New JK Thin Paint?

I haven't been on here in a few years. Just pickes up a new 14 JK. Anybody else found spots/sections on their Jeep Hardtop (black) that look like white specs. Paint damn near looks thin. Didn't notice it last Friday when I picked it up. The 04 TJ's hardtop I traded in was beat to hell. I guess if it bothers me enough I can send it in under warranty. Otherwise...This is a totally different ride from the TJ....in a positive way

That does look a bit strange, is it something that you have to take a long hard look at to notice? Iíve never noticed that on the two JKís Iíve had/have but then Iíve never looked for it. Later when I get outside Iím going to take a closer look on my current Jeep.

It's on the right side back portion only of the hardtop starting from the middle. The pics with flash "enhance" it quite a bit. I didn't notice it until today in the daylight. Like little white specs...that don't clean off. Poor quality control I imagine. Love the jeep though...

Thanks for the responses. Probably just live with it. It's hardly noticeable unless you look for it knowing it's there...or in a pic using a flash. The dealership I bought it from is 6 hours away. Not really sure I want somebody sanding down my top (back of) and repainting it....this soon anyway. Maybe 2 or 3 years and a couple hundred bucks won't be a big deal.

I don't think anyone will notice and it sure as hell ain't gonna rust, so,thats a good idea--just live withit, it shouldn't get any worse anyway-

After you take it on and off a few times you'll see more beauty marks appear. Sucks that it happened so quickly , but probably not going to be the last imperfection it will have being a Jeep.

My JK hardtop has several small spots / chips too. Then again, I bought the HT used.
Even though suggested in jest, I "DO" use a sharpie black marker from time to time.
The white spots magically vanish and I feel much better about the top .
Works great to hide rock chips on the freedom panels too.
Congrats on the new JK and welcome back.
