New Bestop Half Doors! Pics and Video!

Hey guys, just figured I'd share all this, just in case anyone hasn't seen it. Supposedly reasonably priced half doors for the JK without being ripped off by the stealerships! I am MORE than just a little excited myself. I want these doors SOOOO badly, I am DEFINATELY getting the element doors with hard enclosure and soft uppers.

The yellow jeep has the element doors/hard enclosure and the red Jeep has the full soft doors that DO split in half. Look for yourself:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHYcSBubNJw - Here's a youtube video about the doors! I WANT THEM!!!

Word is according to another forum, that they will become available after the 1st of the new year, but no date or price is set yet. They will be available through all their distributers.

Anyone that carries Bestop products will have them when they are finally released. I know Quadratec is one example.

It's about time! I'm more partial to the complete soft doors, but the metal half doors look good. Thanks for sharing Brett!

Very interesting. Those half doors look like they are just tube/rock doors, with a body panel mounted on them.

I'm looking forward to picking up a set of tube doors this spring

I'll bet the metal covering will be removable so you can run them either way. Ok...I hope it is that way.

The hard doors are the "element doors" by bestop, there will be the enclosure kit for them released soon. What you see are the element bar doors with the enclosure kit. So yes, you can run no doors, just bar doors, half doors, or half doors with soft uppers.

Seems like a pretty cool option. I've never really thought of buying half doors for my jeep, but if I could add the skin to the tube doors for just a bit more $$ than the tube doors alone, I might do it.

Those look great, I'm really excited for them to come out now! I hope they pricing is reasonable but i'll admit right now i'll probably pay whatever they want because i love the half-door look... (unless someone from Bestop happens to read this, in which case i demand they be priced extremely cheap)

Outstanding!

It's great to see the aftermarket catching up with our JK's. Over this next year, I'll think we'll continue to see more offerings.

Yeah, the TJ handles completely blow it for me. I understand they want to lower cost, but they could make them out of pixie sticks and lower the cost too.... For that matter, they could have omitted the locks and saved a little money. Who needs door locks on half doors?

Anyway, don't like the handles. (:

How long is it going to take before these items are available for purchase ? I am interested in the 1/2 doors with the hard exterior and hopefully they will make khaki uppers too..

I don't mind the TJ style handles, but if I had a 4 dr I wouldn't be happy about the handle locations, seems like they should have made the front and rear door handles level at least...

The locks on the handles are not to lock people out of the Jeep. As they describe in the video, the locks are so you can lock the door shut on the hinge, and no one can take the door itself!

I am assuming that means the key must be used to unlock them as well, with no internal unlock button like factory doors.
