Name that connector....

Was running some wire today in my 2011 JK Rubicon Unlimited, and had the little panel on the far left side of the dash off, and saw an "unused" connector in there. Looks like a plug for something optional? You can see the gray connector in the center of the picture with three wires running to it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks! TX

Hmm, don't think so. I've got power windows (and power mirrors), and they are plugged in down lower (accessible to be unplugged to take the doors off). It's a mystery!

Hmm, don't recall seeing a connector like that in my '08.

Interesting on it not being there in the '08 and '09. I'm also installing a HAM antenna and running it through that foam filled hole, and saw this install pic from another JK owner. His is a 2012, and I can see it in his pic as well.

Could it be for power mirrors? Heated mirrors? I don't have any other guesses at this point. . .

I'm thinking anything door related would already be routed down by the footwell. That area seems ready to go right out through the firewall to the engine bay.

But apparently it's OEM now that we're seeing it in another photo.

Yeah, agreed. I have power windows, power and heated mirrors, and all that is in the quick release harness down below.

I'm stumped! I may have to stick a multitestor on it tomorrow to see if I can make anything happen!

Before you go putting ANYTHING on it, make sure you're not going to blow your face off with the airbags or anything.

Also, my 2009 Rubicon 2dr soft top has this... Or thought it did...

I believe it is for the Bluetooth speaker, upper left hand corner by the visor.

I have the Bluetooth package. Ill pop the panel off when I get home in the morning and check it out. I'm curious.

I already did on mine. Went out in the garage barefooted too; the sacrifices I make.
