Mygig Nav GPS does not move

Mygig navigation GPS is not moving, seems stuck at one location while Jeep is in motion. It does seem to sense directions, N, S, E, W, etc, not GPS car triangle stays stationary.

Do I need to replace GPS antenna or what's the fix?

your radio is done. I hope your warranty is still in effect. If not go to Crutchfield or someplace and replace it with an aftermarket one. I have had 3 replaced on my Jeep , all covered under warranty

Mine does this occasionally. Usually if I just shut the Jeep off and let the radio power down, it works when I start back up...

I have had this happen twice while trying to navigate to an address - power down (open door to cut off) and wait a min or two fixed the issue.

that sucks! joevacs - is it actually the radio that dies or did a dealer just replace it under warranty cause they wanted to fix it?

Mine does this once in a while. Sometimes it has me driving through water or over a mountain that doesn't have roads. Usually take a few minutes to fix itself. Has not done it in months.
Don't think your radio is done. It's just lost.

the only way to "power down" mygig is to disconnect the battery. Even if it's "turned off" it's still really on.

The first one did exactly what the OP's is doing. The tracking would freeze occasionally, then it became more frequent, and then froze and wouldn't work at all. They flashed it at the dealership, hoping the update would fix it, but it didn't. The second unit , after 6 months, started telling me I was going a completely different direction than I was going. I wouldn't have noticed but since the digital compass on the dash is connected to the Nav unit it said I was heading south when I knew the road I was on, and was heading north. After a few weeks of that it started telling me I was driving in circles. Then white dots covered the screen and the satelite radio quit working.
So far the 3rd one is fine. It's been in now for 9 months so I hope it will last.

Well, I am willing to replace the GPS antenna first. I already have extra after market antenna for Sirius radio Starmate. Can anyone tell me standard GPS antenna would fit mygig? Better yet, I would like to see a pic of rear view of mygig.

Thanks

I put in a new GPS antenna, but it did not fix it. GPS Nav is still stationary, doesn't move.

Guess I'll be using a Garmin 2555.

I had the same problem. Luckily mine was still under warranty. Nav would freeze up and A/C would stop working. Dealer had the part on backorder for 3 months finally swapped it out with new unit from dealer. No problems yet.

Did you try removing battery cable or pulling the fuse to "reboot" the system?
