I just upgraded from 2.042 to 2.043. Does anyone know what chages were made in 2.043? I can't seem to find any differences.

2.042 included all the main advancements, and was a beta for the official 2.043 release. The only differences between 2.042 and 2.043 were bug fixes under the hood to correct any bugs found during the beta testing of 2.042. From an appearance perspective, there's no difference in them.

these are all 2008 high speed models for various chryslers, they'll all work in a wrangler.

1. in early 2008, they moved from 20 gb to 30, how can we tell, by looking at the unit, is it a date stamp?
2. letter codes. so is the AK the latest possible 2008 copy? I've read that is what the letters mean. But others suggest, it means what model it's truly intended for.?

I'll rephrase my question.

If I have 3 2008 mygigs to choose from:

5064400AI minivan
and
5064400AK dodge journey
and
5064400AJ nitro

WHICH would you choose? is the Ak the latest revision, as I've read on one website. Or all they all the same. How do I determine if it's 2008.5 which got the 30gb drive.

Being that the MSRP is $1900, I would venture to guess they are still 20GB. I would hunt down a 2009 so you are sure to get 30GB and iPod compatibility (if that matters to you)

older application 9.715 which is missing a lot of stuff, traffic doesn't show up on navi I think,
database version RS10 N 2070807, seems newer map maybe?

any comments?
I need to make a decision this weekend.

Don't worry about the application version. The latest is 2.043 (yes, they went backwards) and you can upgrade it easily. However, there are real hardware differences (AFAIK) between the 08 and 09 models, where the 08 do not support the iPod cable where the 09s do.

hey thanks for giving me a kick in the pants! I just downloaded the Version 2.043 to my computer. I'm going to burn it to a cd and update my rer.

so if I have 9.713 and I install 2.043, it'll give me everything in between right?

Interesting. I couldn't figure out why my MYGIG wouldn't automatically switch from DAY TIME display to NIGHT TIME display. You have to put it on auto. And then use the light stalk to manually goto the 3rd position.

1st position = interior lights on
2nd = brightest possible mode for all interior display lights. mygig will park in day mode. this lighting mode is aka parade mode.
3rd = night mode, triggers the mygig night mode and slightly dims your dash lighting. aka night mode.

I'm sure you guys have mentioned this in 1 of the 63 pages, but I wanted to mention it now, since there are many n00bs out there.

yo guys I'm installing the ipod cable on a RER 2009 model with lockpick2 and uconnect. unplug the lockpick2 harness from the radio. plug that into the input plug on the ipod cable, then plug the new harness into the radio.???

so factory harness into lockpick harness, lockpick into ipod input harness, new ipod harness into radio?

thx for confirming this for me. any tips appreciated.

it appears the main harness need to be unplugged to piggyback. but in what order? and what is the extra harness for, looks like uconnect, maybe it's not.

My REN works almost like this, but doesn't switch to Night Mode. If I leave it in Auto, it will dim the display controlled by the stalk, but will not switch to Night Mode, just stay in the Day Mode color scheme but dim the display. The only way I can get it to switch color schemes (into Night Mode) is actually change it in settings.

So, your RER changes color schemes (into Night Mode) just by the stalk position while set to Auto?
