You CAN however hook up the audio output of your Ipod to the aux jack on the front of the mygig and listen to the music from the ipod.
If the songs are MP3 files (that you ripped from a CD outside of Itunes, for example) you *might* be able to load it from the Ipod to the mygig's hard drive, but it will be tricky, since the ipod is pretty much designed to prevent you from dong this.
What I do, is transfer the files to a cheap usb-key drive, plug it into the USB port on the front of the mygig and then downloading is a snap.

get the soundtaxi progam simple to use and removes DRM protection from itunes protected AAC files and you can encode to many bitrates. works flawlessly with MyGiG.

Yes you can. Not a lot of new stuff in it though. I do like one feature I found that will rid the display of all icons on the nav screen. I wish I could find a owners manual on the latest ver software to see if we are missing some features.

The other thing I like in 2.042, is that it shows on the nav screen when your phone is paired with the Bluetooth symbol. Just makes it a nice visual indicator if it's attached. I also like the newer, more modern and easier to read battery/signal meters on the UConnect Screen as well.

My Sirius radio sounds so muffled like it's coming in at 64kbps... FM sounds 10x better even. Anyone else getting this? Also, how do I add uconnect to mine? I click the button and it says it's not installed... is there a module I can get?

For the MyGig, you only need to:
1. Add Uconnect mic kit - can be gotten from the dealer for about $40. Part Number is 82211743AB
2. Go into engineering menu (Press Seek Up+Seek Down+Menu all at once) and go down to page 4 or 5. You'll see a button labeled "Enable JK HF+VR". Press that button. It will change from Enable to Disable and the UConnect will now be active.
If you don't have a MyGig, then you need to add a module, and have it scanned. I have that info as well if you need it.

I also have 9.807, tried to update to 2.042 and it gave me a "serious error". Tried with both files from the links posted before and same thing. I had to reinstall 9.807 to get mygig to work again.

Sorry if this was covered, checked a fewe of the 58 pages and couldnt find anything. I just tried to install the lockpick on my mygig system, but it is not working. I checked my connections and they all seem fine. On the lock pick, i have switches 123 as up, and 45 down. Is this correct? All i want to do is get the nav to work as it should, and allow dvds while driving. When i hook it all up, the most i get is the deck powering on, stays on for a few secs, then turns off. When you turn on the vehicle, the mygig does not turn on. Any suggestions?

You have the switches reversed, You need 1, 2, and 3 down and 4, 5 up. 1 up makes the lockpick think you have a low speed can bus, which the jk's do not. This is probably why your radio keeps cutting out. Look at page 4 at the link below to understand the switch settings.

nope, you can try to remove the fuse and reset it but if you stopped the update process you may be screwed. if it isnt working anymore you will have to take it to the dealer so they can fix it.
this is why it is so important to either start it up and wait for the 15-30 mins or turn on the accessory power and wait.
i just updated mine with 2.042 and GN 1287 with no problems. just sat there BS'n with my dad with the JK running. figured with it running there is less chance of me walking away from it. lol
best information for the updates, downloads, burn to disc, install updates.... http://mofv.com/mygig/ (it doesnt have the 2.042 update since it is not an "official" update (it was a beta that was accidently released). 2.043 will be shortly though)
- oh and to the KS/KC crew, im surprised we havent waved yet. im in Baldwin City now and ferquent the Lawrence and KC area often.

Not really. He is probably talking about using the power button to enable/disable video/nav in motion. Regardless, that doesn't explain your mygig radio cutting off after a few seconds. I would make sure everything is connected tight. The first time I connected mine, my passenger speakers didn't work. I just squeezed all the connections and made sure nothing was crimped. It was fine after that. Also, I am assuming that your mygig came with your JK and is a high speed can bus.

Backup Camera and Mic for MyGig
For you guys using a backup camera with your mygig, what camera did you choose, and why? I'm looking at CCDs with at least 120 degrees range. Where did you mount it? Primarily I want it for hitching up to trailers. And will a 4pin to RCA mini adapter work if the camera comes with 4pin connector?
As for the mics, which ones are best? I'll use the top plate mount position.
