But good point to bring up, as most people wouldn't even think about checking that.

How do you know the latest is 9.807? Source, link?? And that said, And I looked in the manual and that being said, lol, it only stated the the USB must comply with "Mass Storage Device", which it does, and that said, the manual states nothing about having to be FAT or FAT32 or NTFS. Ok, thats enough of the "that saids". Another USB drive I have (8 gb) when plugged into the computer, shows up as 2 drives, one as a cd-rom drive and the other as a mass storage drive. That particular USB stick wouldnt work on the MyGig, stating that it wasnt a compatible device, probably because it was detecting the second drive and didnt know what to make of it. Thats when I used the smaller USB stick and reformatted it to FAT32 and it worked. As for there being a "new release soonish", well, anyone can make that claim, how do you know that,,,,source,,link?

I have a friend at HB that says 9.807 is the latest. I think I can believe him.

Looks like 1.220 is out. I've not tried it, don't know if it's a rebadged 9.807 for 1.055 users or a true upgrade, don't know if it's official either -- only that it's in the field now whether kosher or not.

I for one would want to see the changelog to see if there's any pressing reason to update; and then give it a little while to let more adventurous souls try it out a while.

It is definitely and upgrade from 1.055. I now have caller ID. Some seem to think I sound better too. Maybe it is the singing lessons.

Ive installed the 1.220 and it loaded and is working great. I am trying to update the gracenotes 1287 and having problems. The mygig just says DATA and nothing else happens. I have the 1 folder and 1 file that is supposed to be on the dvd. Anyone else install this and get it to work? If anyone in the Houston area wants to load the 1.220 update, let me know.

What I find odd about the update is that its available for download and the "Mopar" part number disk is available for purchased from a vendor on ebay, but you can't locate it from a vendor that sells Mopar parts online!

I'm not completely naive, but it looks to me like the authorized part would be available from vendors at least first.

Yeah, thats where i downloaded it from. But after its burned to dvd and inserted into the mygig, it just says DATA and does nothing. Ive even burned a second dvd from a different brand and still the same thing. I guess the file from their website is corrupted or something. I just want to know if someone else has had the same problem.

Did you follow the tutorial on the bottom of the page? In one step it says this:
Make sure the Allow files to be added later (Multisession) Check box is NOT selected (Un-Checked). This is NOT optional as if this box is left checked then it will only be readable on computers and you will end up with the DATA message when you insert your CD/DVD in the MyGIG radio and the install will never start

I appreciate the help, and yes I did read all that and thats how I burned the 1.220 software update, which worked perfectly. Ive thought about it over and over just to make sure Im not missing anything and cant think of anything else other than something wrong with the file itself or if its vin specific or what. ,,,,,,just not sure. I even burned one from my laptop and the results were the same. The name of the disc when inserted into my computer is GN_1287 and it has only 1 folder(GNDB) and 1 file (gnupdate)shown, which are the two files that are talked about in the links you provided, and the disc is finalized.

I got the download and the disk burned with the folder and two files following the instructions. BUT, I just don't have the "balls" to use it! SO, I ordered a mopar 1.220 update disk from a guy on ebay. I can wait another couple of days to make sure. I just don't trust my burner! AND, I'd have more confidence going to the dealer for help if I make a boat anchor of the MyGig with the Mopar disk! It was $15 including shipping.

I burn stuff all the time and thats not a problem. I got the 1.220 to load with no problem at all and it works great. Just cant seem to get the gracenote 1287 to load. I dont think its my burner or disc, I think somethings wrong with the program or whatever. No biggy, I will see if something else pops up or get ahold of a real disc.

I haven't delved into the Gracenotes yet. I suspect it works something like the Apple devices with the info. I may get into that next.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I should've looked further up the page! I'm just so happy I got the iPhone working with the MyGig! I'm too nervous of "rocking the MyGig boat"! I really should've tried to use the disk I made, but, sigh, I ordered the Mopar version instead!

Congrats on the iphone. My Instinct phone works great on it as well. As for the disc you bought, its only 15.00 so dont sweat it. I had no idea how much it cost, and acutally thought it would have been much more than that. If you have any luck with the gracenotes, let me know.
