The CD only updates application software and does not do the map database update.

that can't be right, since at Camp Jeep, (and other type places) they had a NavTech booth, with a raffle to win a free NavTech map update.
So since they could give it away, it stands to reason you could buy it.
But I'm not sure. I'll look around online and see if I can find anything. You should be able to buy the "newer" ones, but they won't ever have stuff currently under construction.
Other than for the traffic updates.

To the guys that have replaced the single disc or 6-disc changer with the MyGig, what did you do about your Sirius subscription? Since, I have the year free service will it be null if I swap my 6-disc over to a MyGig??? I am considering replacing my 6-disc with the MyGig, but I really don't want to pay for the Sirius either. Let me know. Thanks.

I would think you could just call Sirius and it would transfer right over.
Same as if it was replaced with a new unit for warranty etc.

Would like some advice please.
I downloaded latest version v9.561 and followed instructions to burn to CD Data Disk. I placed disk in MyGig and it recognised it as a Software Update and said please wait - reading disk.
The MyGig appears to now be stuck in that mode of trying to read the disk. I left it there for over 30min before attempting to restart.
I have removed key from ignition, opened door to disable power to MyGig, restarted but the same message now appears "Software Update - please wait - reading disk"
Any suggestions?

I have that version on a "real" disc. I think it's a DVD but none the less, I'd be happy to help you out and make a copy for you and send it to you. It would take a few days to get it but you'd at least real copy. I'd be fearful of doing what you did but glad to help you out.

Rick, I have sent you a pm with my details and truly appreciate your offer.
The community spirit demonstrated here is one of the main reasons why I have been a Jeepman since coming here from Ireland over 20 years ago.
Many thanks,
Martin

I'm often critical of the JK but never of the people that own them. It's my pleasure to help. It'll be in a priority mailer tonight. Please let me know if it helped.

OK gotcha - I felt the all black flap was a better option (although not lockable), but I really like the black bolt look rather than the bright aluminum stock ones.
BTW - The next MyGig software update (v9.6) will have a Navteq POI DB purchasable upgrade option. But Navteq is still pointing inquiries back to HB as of now...
