Mr. Grille Billet Aluminum Grill Insert
Anybody tried one of these on their JK? Good or bad?
Definitely cheaper than the $300 ones I've seen, but more expensive than some of the home-grown ones.
Does anybody else think this sounds like something George Foreman should be selling on late-night TV?

I'm also curious about this. I would think their design would restrict air flow.

I have them on. I don't have any pics. I'll take some tonight and show you.
Very easy to install. Just make sure you put some type of protectant on the bolts as they rust very easy. Luckily, i cought it before it got too bad.

Some folks have made some grill inserts at home. I made one for 35 bucks. Search grille insert and the thread with pics should come up.

What was involved in the install?
I look forward to seeing your pictures- I'm really interested in these.

Here are some pics...
This is the best pic - This is what you see as you walk up to the jeep
This pic is up close...(those tiny holes is your option to put the clamp bolt through. You use two clamps on each piece.
Install was very simple.. You remove the grill shell (plastic screw/rivets) and the grill is installed by a clamp.
Let me know what ya think

I used rabbit cage wire, painted it flat black. Then I turned it so the holes would make a diamond pattern and I used zip ties and and zip tie mounts to secure it to the inside of the grill. There are more holes in mine than in the pics above. I wanted to keep good air flow and be able to keep rocks from hitting the radiator.
Wire was 4 bucks, paint 5, zip tie mounts were 4 or 5 and the zip ties were 5. Mine looks like the one in the
first link on the page only black.
Heres the link with more pics of the homemade ones from a few weeks back

grill guard
I made this one this weekend, found the idea on another jeep forum. About $25 worth of materials (3/8 u-channel, L-brackets).
I found the woven wire in the scrap bin of a local company, they let me have it for nuttin.

Just installed mine this weekend (black inserts) and really like it. Fairly easy to install, looks good and will keep the radiator from dying!!

I like mine, and they were pretty easy to install (if you take the grill off):

The hood latch is accessed from the gap between the hood and grill top after you pop the latches.

You dont have to reach into the slats to open the hood. the latch is above the grille
