If you shorten up that mirror bolt you could do this with your bottom hinges

And for the record, I'm probably judging you for your bad grammar or spelling.

Okay, it took me two attempts and four cans of Plasti Dip, but I finally got exactly the results I was hoping for. I put a good coat of fresh Meguiar's wax down, then fearlessly sprayed the Plasti Dip. Once I was satisfied, I threw on my new lettering and stepped back to admire.

I haven't been doing much tinkering, but I took it out for some wheeling today. I left the Denver area at 1am with a good buddy and drove up to Mosquito Pass to do some sunrise photography. Mosquito Pass is the highest continuous road in Colorado which goes over a pass, so we were leaving 79 degree temperatures in Denver for the 42 degrees at the summit. We arrived about 70 minutes before sunrise, which gave us plenty of time to do some long exposure photography before snapping the sunrise photos. We got this gem with an 80 second exposure on my Canon 60D:

After some dehydrated breakfast of Teriyaki Chicken and Rice (I eat like a bachelor both on and off the trail!) and black tea, the sun finally started to make its appearance in a sky full of perfect clouds. I set up my camera and waited for the earth to turn just enough to get this money shot of my Rubicon rocking the new MOLON LABE decal:

Of course, I also decided to take full advantage of the 10-22mm Canon lens that I was shooting with, so I got this photo of my Jeep sporting the snub-nosed look:

And last but not least, here is a faithful HDR replication of the sunrise as we saw it from Mosquito Pass. The sharp peak in the middle of the photo is London Mountain:

P.S. Sorry for the watermark on the last one; it's automatically added to photos in my Landscapes album. If anyone wants a high-res copy of that without a watermark, just send me a PM.

I live in the wrong ****ing state. Those pictures rock, and I am completely jealous. I've been to Colorado once and wish I could find a way to live there.

Affirmative. Also, my buddy's headlamp might've had something to do with it.

A sweet camera like a 60D does time-lapse photography. Decide an interval you want to shoot on , set it on a tripod and let it go. This would be his buddy walking around the jeep.

Sweet pics man!

Close, but not quite. The 60D does not have an intervalometer built in, but I do occasionally connect my TI-83 calculator to my camera and use it as an intervalometer for time lapse photos. In this case, I was simply using a Canon remote plugged into the camera to keep the shutter open for a long exposure. In this case, it was an 80 second exposure. Some of the later photos I took were as long as 3 minute exposures.

Here's another little gem from my Labor Day excursion. Shot this one with my iPhone, so I forgot to post it earlier. It accurately conveys just how high up 13,300' really is. Those mountains in the background include Colorado's two tallest Fourteeners (Elbert and Massive).

I really want someone to photoshop in a "NO RIGHT TURN" sign.

Beautiful. Have you ever done Black Bear down there between Red Mountain Pass and Telluride? Now that's really something especially if you don't mind a little bit of hiking up the peaks. I love CO, can't wait to be back working for the NPS next summer.

I'm packing up right now to head out on what is most likely the last camping trip of the year, and I decided I wanted to find a place to store a handful of zip ties within arm's reach. Since I'm running without any roll bar padding, I decided to put two zip ties around the steel roll bar and use them to hold ten other zip ties conveniently next to my seat.

image-1173387781.jpg

Also, I'll be doing some tinkering in the coming weeks which should include removing my bumper to replace my burnt out fog light, removing my bra and installing metal mesh in its place, rerouting my winch power cables, and possibly Plasti-Dipping the grill. I'll do my best to be patient and take photos.
