Modified My ARB Bumper

I put some fender protection on my ARB. I love the ARB bumpers but did not like that the Wrangler did not have any fender/headlight protection, so I had some made and welded on. Had the finished product powder coated.

I like the purpose it serves but it makes the Jeep look a bit like Larry "Bud" Melman. ;-)

The Deer is why I did it. I had one stick its head out in front of my WJ and hit the bars on the ARB instead of my head light. Little big, but had to to clear the lights. It will serve its purpose.

I have to agree, that is by far the most hideous addition I've yet to see anyone put on a wrangler. I have full coverage so I don't care about hitting wildlife, plus the wildlife we have hear are just wild boar and they're too short to hit my fenders. If something does kill my fenders I can pick up a set on CL cheap and cut them too, but I opted for the black fenders instead of the mall crawler H2 painted fenders. I've hit plenty of deer in the past, once even on my motorcycle but I would have found a better design than that or just took my chances and let the insurance do what I pay them for.

This is what I love about Jeep Forum. ... Oh about about Jeeps in general. Anyone can do anything w/ their Jeep and make it theirs. Personally I wouldn't have done the add-on bars, but I salute the OP for doing so. Growing up in Michigan I've hit my fair share of deer.... Heck one came thanksgiving dinner one year when we destroyed my dad's silverado's front end with one....I think it has scarred me for life.

As long as the OP doesn't run 24" chromes I'm good with it. Jeep on and don't forget to

I also have full coverage but would rather have a deer hit my bumper than come flying through my windshield . I'm sure that rig will defiantly work lol

For most of us a deer would have to jump to be able to make it into the windshield, in which case it would also clear that bumper and still come in the windshield.

I've been in a car that hit a deer with the bumper then rolled into the windshield and went flying over the roof and that deer Didn't jump.

CAR not a lifted jeep. It'd be very hard for a deer to hit the windsheild of a jeep.

So what you're saying is that 1. everything worked exactly as its designed to do and the deer went over the car and didn't come through the windshield. Thank you for verifying that's what usually happens.
2. your point has nothing to do with this discussion since a car and a lifted Jeep are two very different beasts when it comes to hitting a deer.
