I hate to resurrect an old thread but... I have just purchased a military used HI10500 for my TJ and don't want to spend the $$ on the "adapter" kit that leaves you with 4 extra adapters, anyway is it possible to cut the factory high pressure line and "flange" the metal ends?? also what size and type are the fittings that screw directly into the winch?? any info is greatly appreciated.

I don't know off hand the model of retired govt winch we put on our brush truck at the local VFD, but we went to the local kubota tractor dealer where they can make hydraulic hoses to spec and they plumbed it for us for about $40. Is that an option available to you?

The factory high pressure side can be cut and flared with a T plumbed in, but I'm not sharp enough on hyd. fitting sizes and threads so I let them do it for me.
