The top of your boot should be really close to 2" from the shift knob on 2011-2012 manuals. Lower or higher can create problems. I know it seems like that a rubber boot couldn't be the problem, but I have heard at least one person who had fixed there problem with it. Worth a look at least.

There is a TSB about the 2011-2012 poping out of gear (mostly because of the boot) posted here -->http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f96/2.../#post12997077

There is a small chance that you need a new inner boot. What ever the hell that is. This is from that TSB
In addition, vehicles built between July 25, 2011 (MDH 0725XX) and July 28, 2011 (MDH 0728XX) may have been built with an inner shift lever boot that can negatively affect this condition.
I did a poll on "the wrangler forum" to see how many people had to take there JK's in for manual transmisson problems - mostly popping out of gear. After about 250 votes or so it always hovered at about 20%.

There really doesn't seem to be a lot of good reasons to pick a Stick with the new trans for the Pornstar. They are fun to drive though.
