The madness starts

Greetings, my name is Tim, and I'm a JA. (Jeep addict). Been lurking on forum for about a year since buying my 2012 JKU sport S. (3.6 auto with the dreaded 3.21..Que ominous music)Love the utility of the JKU, cargo space, towing, convertible, mud slinger, sport car...(I can dream can't I)

Anyway had it a year, time to make her look right. 90% on road, 10% off road. No rock crawling just yet, mostly trails and fire roads in upstate NY. Plans are as follows will be complete by end of month;

Bumpers - eBay front and rear going on this weekend, rear carrier type
Lift - TF 2.5 coil. Not sure if replacing shocks or just using adapters..plan on bilstein 5100s
Wheels -Black Rock D Window Alloys, 15x8 tungsten, like the silver/black contrast
Tires - GY Duratrac 33x12.5x15, heard many positives, easier on drive train

Thoughts

Not sure if I'll need an exhaust spacer, some did some didn't. 2.5 coil hard to install without a lift? Amateur shade tree here, have worked on cars and my bikes.. Should I pop for the shocks upfront or swap them out later? If I swap out later is it a pita?

Wheels, what TPMS sensors should I get for the Black Rocks?

Any other recommendations for phase one of the project? Yes, I want flatties but might just trim until I have the funds

Thanks

This has no bearing on any of your questions, but I just thought I'd say Hey. I'm over in Canton. Only an hour away. I think you're the closest person to me I've seen on the forum lol.

looks like great products, id look into longer shocks once you get into wheeling more, had a guy from another forum on another planet just down the street come with me to rausch this weekend, on a 2.5 with rubi shocks we let him lead so he could go at his own pace but he did very well and i was very surprised with the flex. look for some rubi take offs should get them pretty cheap. also love my black rock rims. sadly ill be selling them soon for some 8 lugs. i have th 15"ers and i love the look on a 35

You don't need a lift but a jack and some jack stands. That lift should be pretty easy to do.

I would look into a long travel shock as well to gain back your down travel that you are going to loose by lifting.

I would go with 17" wheels but its your ride and you have your reasons for running 15's. I know they are cheaper now, but in the long run who knows, I doubt it.

3.21 gears are not going to be fun with 35's. I know, gears are expensive, again its your rig do what you have to do.

Enjoy the build!

I see a resemblance between your bike and Jeep.
