Made my own mirror brackets!

Hey all! I just got done building mirror brackets for the ol' jeep. I didn't much care for what's on the market so I brainstormed and came up with this.

It's removable with the small hitch pin. This is the bracket that stays on whill you store the mirror. It doe not get iin the way of the dor at all.

The mirror inserts the bracket and around the bolts. (I used the existing hardware)

Thanks! ...as for paint, I've heard the same from most who see it. I'm still working out any kinks in the design before I do , though.

It looks pretty good and I like easily removable part of the design. Definitley agree with needing to be painted, but as you stated you plan on it. I am curious as to how much do they vibrate while driving?

None. The aluminum tube is 1 inch. The flat elbows fit PERFECTLY inside. I actually used 9 or 10 brackets and just cut them at the elbow. Then mark and drill. Once in the sleve they form a tight (but not too tight) connection. I would have probably machined a piece of nylon for the spacer between the two down posts but, This works fine for a start.

I took one of the bolts out of the windshield mount, went to the local Home Depot got the same size bolt. The went to the Autozone for cheapo mirror. Welded a nut onto the bolt so I can screw it into the windshield mount and then connected the cheapo mirror to the bolt. Total Price under $10. Works great will post some picks
