Thanks for all that feedback on the Sport guys! y'all pretty much settled my decision for now! I think to initially start coming from the dealership ill buy a 2013 JKU Sport S, with a 3.73 gear ratio, 2.5" lift, and 35 BFG all terrain tires. i think thats a good place to start on my new toy!

You should definitely go with some sort of mud terrain instead of the all-terrain. If you don't you'll soon regret not doing it. There are a lot of fairly mild m/t's out there which are more or less an aggressive a/t. Everything else you said is a good decision though.

reason i wanted all terrain is cause i will be driving it to and from base and then mudding when i can. so its going to be my every day car as well as my weekend warrior too!

We went with the Goodyear MTR'S. They seem to have good road manners and an aggressive look at the same time.

X2 on Trail Grapplers, aggressive and street quite and frendly, I do 80 mph to work 120 miles a day... Mpg sucks though..

Nittos are ****...before the JK, they existed only for ******bags with lifted diesel trucks, flat billed hats, and monster energy stickers.

Before someone pipes in and says that they got a sixth place in KOH, I'll nip that right in the bud: its sixth place, since when is that impressive? And when nitto is the biggest sponsor of the ultra4 series, they oughta do better than that...they're spending tons of money to get these guys to run their junk *** tires, they're bound to get results eventually.

The Toyo open country, mickey Thompson mtz, and cooper discoverer stt are all good tires. The mickeys are a bit pricey, though. If I'm buying a 37" or smaller dual purpose tire with on road being the heavy primary use, its the cooper every time.
