Yes it is painted. Mine is an 09. Tops did not come painted in 09. I brought it to my local guy and told him to paint it up to the line between the sides and top. My whole theme has basically been a two-tone black/silver jk. I really liked the old two tone land rovers and toyota's and wanted to go with the same idea. It required sanding and filling to smooth out. The top part is the stock oem textured black finish. I am very happy with the result and get alot of compliments.. probably more if painted tops were less common place. I will take another photo that is more clear showing the back as well. I was concerned about longevity but it has held up well.
Yeah it looks good.
Very simple yet different in a good way, like the 2 tone effect.

Hey Bearman95,
I like the look. What rims and tires are you running? Size width and model?

Also are you sporting a gas can in the rear? What rear bumper is that? Also how does the teraflex lift handle?

Thanks,
Mike

On my 3.5" i went out and disconnected by swaybar and was pretty easy getting my tire entirely up in the fender and even rubbed the fender pretty bad.
Did you add those triangular plates on the front yourself? I've looked at the XRC M.O.D. bumper options and I haven't seen any with those included. It's a mean look!

I installed them myself. They are a accessory to the MOB bumper. Here is a link to where I purchased them. They are the Mid Width End Plates.

I'm actually referring to the flat steel "plates" that look like they are bolted onto the front of the bumper, helping attach the main "stubby" to the mid width "caps." Did those flat plates come with the mod kit? I don't see them in the picture on the smittybilt website.

That's a great look! I only asked because those plates are definitely not in the pictures on the website, so when I saw them on your bumper I scratched my head. Definitely thinking about going with this bumper.

^^this. And 3 grown men at least. It may depend on the tires but the MTR/K just did not want to stretch over that outer bead. We had to use fender washers to hold our place on the other side or about a 1/4 of the tire would just pop up on the other side. Used a couple molding tools and a wonder bar to bring lip over, and then a dead blow hammer to beat it the rest of the way over.

All the videos I've watched on the Internet DID NOT look that hard at all. Granted this was our first time doin it, but it just wasn't as easy as I thought. I knew it'd be tedious, and that was the easy part, but we are all sore after doin 5 lol
