Level 8 tracker rims on 2012 JK with stock tires?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I have a 2012 JK sport with 17 inch wheels. I decided to upgrade my wheels to 17 inch level 8 trackers(polished). I was thinking of 285/70r17 Nitto Terra Grapplers or possibly 265/70r17. My stock 255/75r17's still have a lot of tread though. Is putting the stock tire on the new rim an option? Even though I like the aggressive look, it's hard to buy new tires when the stocks are still good. I don't plan to get a lift as I don't do any off roading.

Thanks for the help!
