tx-Skydiver: How do you like your lift? I am gettin gmy 4-door soon and I am thinking about a 2.5 or a 3 inch lift. My brother has Rustys 3 inch and rides nice. How is your ride and have you had any problems with your lift? Thanks.

Love it. It rides nice. The first 5mph, you can feel the nobbies on the tires, then it smooths right out. The steering does seem to be a tad bit looser than stock and you have to "drive" it a little more when it is windy but nothing serious. I say go for the 3" so you can get enough clearance for full articulation off road with 35 inch tires.

My Unlimited X gets shipped next week. I've got 35" MTZ's and 17in rims waiting.
(I ordered with just the base wheel/tires)
What have folks done about their speedometer with the larger tires?
Ant recommendations?

Anyone hearing anything about breaking front axles of the X models while running 35's. Mine is mostly going to be on the road with the periodic muddin trip. Nothing too tough. I really want the 35's though.

Also, where is everyone finding the spare mounts and for how much?

Thanks Bill. I have been looking at sites like centerlinewheels.com and american racing wheels etc. and there has been conflicting information. Some say 5 X 5 and some say 5 X 4.5 Most say backspacing of 5", but some sites show different. If the wheel manufacturer doesn't know, then they shouldn't put the information out there like that. That's just good enough to cause somebody to order something that won't fit.

I have 305/70R16 mounted on 04 chevy wheels on my 99 Chevy K2500... the wheels are 6.5" wide. I have pulled a 14' inclosed trailor filled to the top with furniture, gun safes, motorcycles and trikes... the list goes on, but my point is the tires have not caused any problem running through the mountains of verginia at 70+ with a fully loaded trailer (5,000+ lbs). From my experience you should be fine running a 12.50 on a 7.5" wheel.

figured i'd throw in a pic
