KC Slims windshield mount help needed

So basically I have never been much for installing driving/fog lights and now I need to install them up high. I was hoping someone could give me the best way to install them on my JK... I already have the lights and the windshield mounts just need to know if I need to drill for wiring or if there is a way to route the wiring so it still looks good. Either way some instruction would be much appreciated.... Thanks in advance......

If you look towards the bottom of this page, there's a list of similar threads. At least one has photos and a walk through. Try the JK specific site if you're stuck here, I know there's stuff there, too.....

Thanks Willie, I actually didn't even see that..... I just got done looking over some of them, my issue isn't really how to get it into the cab... I am wondering where the best place to drill the holes to get it into the engine comp is if I even need to drill at all... Any insight you have would be great......

Just unbolt the cowl, and route the wires under it like the picture below. You don't even need to remove the cowl- just unbolt it enough to lift up a little. Then bolt the cowl back down. Once under the cowl, it is very simple to route them to the engine compartment. No drilling necessary

N2rock, are those the KC mounts you have? I really like the way they are just a little bit offset so the lights are just a little bit out of the way of the driver. Hmm, hope that makes sense.

Just be careful when installing the switch. Somehow I crush mine- twice. If you do manage to break yours, P-- Boys sells the same exact ones.

No, those are the Mopar mounts. The mopar mounts the lights more down and outward. KC mounts are higher and more inward.

I have the KC mounts. If I were to do it again I would have gone mopar.

And x10 on unbolting the cowl. I have yet to drill a single hole in my JK, and I have a ton of extra crap on it.

Avian, are your mounts corroded or just dirty? I want to buy the mopar ones but they are just not worth the price difference of the KC. I plan on buying them and painting them jeep green to match.

don't skimp. If you really prefer the look/position of the Mopar ones, then you'll always have it in the back of your head, that little nagging voice "I should have gotten the Mopar brackets".

It's all about looks. Which mount position do you think looks the best. Whichever one you think looks the best, is the one you should get or you'll regret it later. Yeah, the Mopar are pricey. So that just means you save your money for another month (or whatever) before making the purchase.
