Now for a serious note: So with power door locks does the tailgate lock as well? Stupid question, I know.

Either this^^ or you have a lock on your hood and the key for it was in the jeep on the same key key ring as the ignition key.

Garage doors that are automatic almost always use a chain track to open and close them. There is a red rope at the point were the bar on the door attaches to the chain. That is the manual release in case of emegency. So that you can open the door by hand.


Edit: Sorry I forgot that some of them use a lond threaded bar (kinda like a giant screw) to move the door, but it's in th track thing to and still has the manual relaese rope.

Yupp, one of the hazards all right. But to be fare, I did the same thing with one of my TJ’s a while back but at least the Jeep wasn’t turned-on. No, not the dirt-way. I was off-roading at the time too.

How bout the hard part. Can anyone guess how the doors locked themselves? I think I know but would love to here your theories first.
