Just a quiz...

Not really technical but more amusing than anything. I have always carried a spare key for my previous Jeeps, this one included just incase I lost it while hiking or accidentally lock the key in the Jeep. They were always hidden of coarse but still accessible. Well, for this Jeep I couldn’t find a magnetic holder no matter how hard I tried. The key is just too large. I finally found a cast aluminum small box that it would fit in. I drilled some small holes and mounted it in the engine compartment. Put the key in it, sealed the top with silicone and screwed the lid on. Then put the screwdriver (it takes a small Philips) in the Jeep so I could get to the key if need be.

The other day I started-up my Jeep and closed the door, then went into the house to get something and when I returned to get in, guess what? The door was locked with the engine running.

Two things went wrong here. Can anyone guess what they are? I already know of course, just thought it might be fun to see what people think.

Hint: The answer to one is obvious (good thing I wasn’t off-roading), the other might surprise you.

I cant picture how the lid works, but sealing it with silicone might make for a difficult removal.

I would think that if you were home you could just find another screwdriver to access the spare key, right?

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

It's in the garage and the only working opener is in the jeep and the manual release is broken off the chain track?

This is what you get for power door locks on a Wrangler.
