Wow, I am really surprised how much the Rubi struggled. You must have picked a better line, or maybe the hill got slicker, or, or, or maybe the JK is more capable than people will give it credit for.

On a slippery climb a longer wheelbase will not fishtail as much (allowing greater control). And, traction control can outdo a locker in situations like the one shown.

It did not seem like gnarly tires made much of a difference, which tells me the climb was more icey than slushy.

I would like to have seen the JK go again at the end but I hope that it is that much more capable cause mine is getting built next week

For what it's worth, I realize it's not ice/snow, but I was driving around some forest roads over the weekend with my stock JK Sahara...going through some very deep sugar sand and plowed fire breaks, stuff that was seriously scary in my stock '96 XJ...for the most part the JK was through it like it was on pavement. Once in a while I'd feel the engine rev up a little to work harder, but most of the time it was smooth sailing.

ya there was NO ice on that hill! it was about 2 feet of powder when it started. i mean POWDER. it was 4 degrees outside when we got there! about 2 feet of fluffy deep powder! it was awesome!

about 10 rigs went up that before i did.

all the rigs in the vid but mine are locked front and rear. oh and i'm not sure about the yellow cj.
