Or they just cleaned it up and never fixed it in the first place.

We just bought a new 2010 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 1-1/2 weeks ago and now have 4500 miles on it as we drove from here in east Texas to central and northern California and back, went to Monterey to Laguna Seca for the Moto GP race and then a couple hundred miles up highway 1 ! What a blast, love the jeep (hardtop) No complaints other than more power would be nice, but we cruised at 75 - 80 miles per hour on interstate getting 18 - 20 mpg so I was pleasantly surprised and happy and look forward to getting offroad.

Really? Mine has been covered in mud, sand all over it, wiped down, beat up, and I wipe it down and it looks brand spankin new!

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

Regarding the "lane change" 3 flash function. This kicks in if you briefly flick lever, however if you hold it for more than a quarter second it just flashes once.

We may have passed on HW 1. I was on the coast too, cruising from frisco to Santa Barbara and back. I recollect maybe seeing a JK with Texas plates, at a scenic turn-out, over-looking the Big Sur coast. Didn't go to the bike races at Laguna Seca but saw hundreds of them headed north while I was headed south. I was in a silver Rubi 4-dr with the top down. Was surprised how many older farts like me were on bikes.
Met a cool dude, (J.N.), at the Hitching Post BBQ, in Buelleton, featured in the great flick "SIDEWAYS". He rode his hot new space-ship Ducati cross-country from DC., stopping to the see the races. We had a nice chat. Turns out he has a Grand Cheerokee HEMI SRT back home. He dug my Rubi and the mods I made for nomading in it. I could see his brain whirring, thinking about maybe getting one for his old age, if he gets tired of trekking cross country on two wheels.

My main complaint with my o8 rubi unlimited is the high beam indiacator light. I have a bit of night blindness so I turn my dash down really low but the only thing that isn't connected to the dimmer is that blinding blue light when on high beams. I literally drive with my hands at 12:00 during the night. My only other complaint is losing all the paint on my door hinges, this appears to be more of a rubicon issue due to not having steps to block some of the mud and rocks flying up. Hoping someone comes out with replacement stainless hinges in the future.

The winter wheels for my VW don't have tire pressure sensors, so when I put them on, I put a little piece of black gaffer tape over the spot for that warning light on the dash. You could easily customize the tape to allow just a little hi-beam indicator to show and yet never really notice the tape during the daytime. fwiw...
