JK NewB!

Hey, just moved from a 99TJ to a 09JK Unlimited. Need to get a canoe up over the soft top. I am thinking light bar and some sort of square tubing that mounts to the trailer hitch (2") receiver. Anyone got a lead on something that exists or am I looking at custom?

Big fan of the TJ forum, looking forward to JK advice now

Pool noodles, you know, those flexible styrofoam tubes you buy in the kid's dept in Walmart. Place those across the windshield and the sound bar, tie down the canoe/kayak to the front tow hooks and rear spare tire (Note: NOT to the front spare tire. J/K...I've had a few too many at the time of writing.).

Cheap, easy, voila! Works for my kayaks.

This might work for the hitch mount option.

They even have a couple of them mounted to an older Wrangler.

I am interested to see pictures of where pool noodles placed and of kayak on noodles. Do you have any? I have been looking for a way carry Ocean Kayak without attaching permanent rack that will prevent me from parking in many parking garages due to height restrictions.
