My 2011 JKUR has been a work in progress for me. I only get to work on it between deployments so I get alot of time to spend here talking to other members and learning about new mods and products. I wasn't going to enter this year since I have been deployed since I won last year and my last break at home was short but I figured in the holiday spirit I would help fill the field. I haven't gotten to do everything I have wanted to it but then who ever gets to or wants to finish their favorite project? This thing makes me smile everytime I see it or drive it.

And The Winner Is!

You've conquered the pack in the 2013
JK of the Year Contest

ENGINE: 6.4L 500+HP Hemi
AXLES: Front and rear Currie Rock Jock D60 /5.38 gearing, Front ARB locker, Rear is Detroit.
STEERING:PSC Hydro assist
SYSPENSION: EVO Extreme clearance long arm, EVO Front Double Throwdown coilovers and rear (Rear is double throwdown lever setup)

TIRES: Goodyear 42" MTR/K

Other Randoms upgraded items: Reid racing knuckles, brakes + Brake lines, exhaust, battery, some wiring, massive mods made to fit 42's cutting trimming and such.

Near future Mods: PSC front bumper on order, rock lights, possible change for spare mounting, after I see how the 42's handle in Moab if not happy I might downgrade to 40's, need to get skid plates for oil and tranny pans (Already destroyed oil pan).

Story. I drove from Minnesota out to Idaho to buy this 2010 Rubicon New, it has been a fun and not very cheap hobby. Everytime I find something I want to do or crawl up that I cannot, I decide to make new upgrades. As most Jeeps this is a never ending storie, but one I am enjoying to the fullest. UPDATE: After my 1st trip to Moab, and breaking a drive shaft and rear pinion, it was time to go bigger or go home... So the money and time pit began. I will be heading out to Moab for my 3rd time this coming spring, I cannot wait to check out how it handles the slickrock after my recent round of upgrades.

Story: I purchased this Jeep used on 1/23/2012 and I took it for some stock off-roading with some buddies and I was hooked. I've been dumping as much money into the Jeep as often as possibly to keep raising the capabilities. Within the year (hopefully 2014) I plan to make a trip out to MOAB with my father and we will be towing our rigs down! I update my build thread on this forum step by step as I go and I hope it has inspired some of you just how some of you have inspired me. I appreciate all the continued support throughout my build and I apologize for the lack of off-roading pictures or pictures without all my mods on.

This is Dirty Gerty. She is a 2012 JKU. I purchased her brand new in October of 2011. I started saving up and started building her in April of 2012. Things have slowed with the addition of our little man, but I still drive her daily. I have emptied every pocket, and this is where she is today. Thanks for looking! Cheers!

I am sure I am leaving out some smaller mods and accessories, but here is what I can think of.

The Story

We both were four wheelers and had Jeeps before we met and married, and have had several jeeps together. We are old school wheelers who don’t drink the “bigger is better” Kool- aid; A good driver, a good spotter and a good Jeep can go almost anywhere we want. While most of the parts are bolt on, if you look close, you’ll see some custom fab work. Our mods were meant to be dual purposed, making it capable off road but keeping it stable and comfortable on road.

Background Story
2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara
Started life out right away to be built for the 2012 London to Cape Town South Africa World Cup Rally. It has since transformed a few times and now a total transformation from a race proven jeep to a daily driver and often wheeled. Mostly hand built by me and a good friend. We are in the process of building a cantilever for the rear just for old triple bypass shocks from the race.

May 2014
JK of the Month Contest

2007 JKU rubicon with 102k miles approx
Currently a 3.8 with auto but building a hemi to swap later this year (it has begun!! Parts are all back from the machine shop!!)
Rubicon tcase
Tom woods drive shafts
Rear axle. Corp 14 bolt rear. Custom mounts and truss. disk brakes. Yukon chromoly axles. Yukon grizzly locker. 5.38 gears solid diff cover. Shaved about 1.25" off the bottom.
Front axle. Ford kingpin dana 60. Grizzly locker, 5.38 gears, solid diff cover, custom mounts, gusseted knuckles, 35spline chromoly axles with superjoints, Yukon hubs.
Front suspension. 14" fox 2.0 coilovers, 14" 2.5" triple bypass shocks, 2.0 air bumps, custom 3 link long arm pushing the axle 1.5" forward.
Rear suspension. 12" fox coilovers, (eventually triple bypass as well but not currently installed), mostly Teraflex long arm, currie antirock, 2.0 air bumps. Mounts welded on to move rear axle back 1.75"
All mounts and shock towers are built by me and the abs is all in working order.
Psc hydro assist with custom 1 ton steering.
Raceline aluminum bead locks.
40" toyo open county mts
River raider aluminum skid plates
Cold air intake and flowmaster muffler
Custom bumpers built by previous owner.....(I take no claim)
Xrc8 winch with syn line
ORF rear tire carrier with jerry cans. (Broken and welded back together)
Aev corner armor.
Stock sliders with 1.5" tube added.
Psc rocker armor with b pillar skin
Hid x 7" lights and hid x 4" on the bumper.
Cut stock fenders but ordering PS aluminum or making some soon.
Neoprene seat covers
30lb co2 tank
Optima red top.
Arb 50qt fridge
And the usual recovery gear... Straps, first aid kit, etc.

Purchased this jeep in 01/2013 fairly well built with 6" Tera long arm, speed bumps, built rubicon axles, bumpers, lights, 37s, etc. It was a very capable built jeep and was wheeled and driven most of the year in the way it was purchased. Sold the axles wheels and tires in November and built the one tons...... And it snowballed from there. I didn't pay much for the jeep in the beginning because it needed a little work and that is why I did one tons so soon, and the hemi, that is another reason for one tons.
This jeep is my first jk but I also have a tj unlimited on one tons, a 5.9magnum motor, 40s, etc. I really like the 4 door for how it drives and rides..... It has become my baby in the short time I have owned it.

When I was just a little tot, my cousin had a red CJ8 Scrambler that I got to ride around in. It was the coolest thing in the world. In July of 2009, I was finally able to buy my first Jeep, a ’01 Jeep TJ Wrangler. I modded and wrenched on it, having a blast through all the good and bad times. In February of 2012, my health started to change. Being the extremely stubborn person that everybody loves and hates, I finally went to the doctor in April. Turns out I had been living with Type I diabetes for two months. After some education and looking back on those two months, there were a few times where I was teetering on the verge of some very life threatening things. It kind of alters one’s outlook, and I decided to focus more on doing the things I enjoy. Traded in the TJ for a brand new JK in September of 2012. The very next day, I joined a Jeep club and have had some of the most memorable times in my short life.

I am very proud to be able to say that I have done most of the work. Minus the

in progress, it has had some hiccups. I am not a mechanic or an automotive

specialist so I learn a lot from trial and error and reading and asking

questions. 37s are in my very near future. Very excited for that.
