JK hitch wiring harness

I am getting a hitch installed this week by a local hitch shop and I don't know which harness to buy. Do I need the 7 way round connector from mopar (part 82210214AB) and then get an adapter to connect a flat trailer connector? Which trailers have those round plugs anyway? Can I just get a harness that goes straight to flat 4 way connector?

Thanks

The 7-pin will give you more options, but you'll need to run wires to the front of the Jeep to support it. The 4-wire can hook right into the tail light. You can can a 7-pin to 4-pin adapter in case you need to plug in a 4-pin trailer, so the 7 pin is more versatile. Having said that, I went w/the 4-pin as I mostly use the hitch for bike and cargo racks. I'd really suggest just doing the hookup yourself, it's trivial.

Okay thanks for the info. Do you have a part number for the 4 pin harness? Also, I said I was getting a hitch installed but in fact I am buying it and I will install it myself I know it's only like 4 bolts trough the frame.

Thanks

I asked the service dept how long they would charge for a hitch and 4-pin harness install. They said 3 hours. I got the parts and put them on myself. It took 20 minutes, which included getting out the tools
