By adding vacuum to these vents any fluid that reaches the tubes [splashed or otherwise] could be inhaled by the engine. Fumes and vapors could also become a problem and have an effect on the various sensors in the intake/fuel system.
Just something to keep in mind.
Your work looks very good, Keep it up
Hey guys. Did we ever get an answer on this thought from JLC08JK? And hows the snorkle working?

I've had 0 problems with this.

I don't think there is enough suction to the breather hose inlet for this to be a concern, 1, the snorkel should provide enough airflow and secondly, it would take a fairly high amount of pressure to suck oil through the length of the breather hoses.

There is 1 attachment of Rubired still available on the site.
The snorkel is now over 3 years old. I have probably swapped the hi/lo mount extension pipe a dozen times and it works well.
My only feedback is that since mine was an early beta version the seams at the corners of the mounting base are starting to split just a hair. I have a less than ideal arrangement on mine, where I hose-clamp the pipe to my roof rack ( which pulls the pipe backwards). So i doubt if anyone else will have it too.
Even with all the heavy Florida rain at 70+mph I have never had rain wash into the air box or filter.
And when it's time to take Rubired swimming, she likes to play in the lake, the engine just happily purrs (or roars) along. Good design, good product. I would buy this Rugged Ridge snorkel again.
