Some manual JK's do have the center console (I think Saharas and Rubi's), but yes you can buy the parts and make your own. Your best bet though would be to search the for sale section on all the JK forums as some people have pulled there's in order to replace it with the Tuffy Security Console. The Tuffy Security Console would also be something you could look into, it's very much like the factory one, only made of metal, has a more secure locking storage compartment and a padded top for that, which makes for a nice arm rest.

So I've noticed most of the manual JK's don't have center consoles and I'm looking to buy a JK soon.
I can't seem to find any for sale for 07 and up... any suggestions? is there a way to buy a factory console from a dealership you think?
When I ordered my standard JK in April, the center console was part of the 23S package. Some of the posts I read on the 2010 JK's (search for 2010 threads here on Jeep Forum, JK Tech) is that the components of the 23S package were becoming standard on the 2010's. Jeep.com as of yesterday was still showing 2009 models, but many dealerships have received 2010 JK's or they're in transit. And for 2010 the "X" model has been changed to "Sport." Were you to buy a 2009 X with the 23S package, you'd have a "sport" model. The "S" stands for "sport" according to the dealership from whom I purchased my JK.
Best of luck in your JK search. Also, you could always order the JK you want from your dealership, if you don't mind waiting about 4 weeks. That's how long it took to get my factory order.
sounds like if you get a basic X that's the only way you'll be without one. my girlfriend's '08 X was the first JK I saw without one. I'm actually surprised how many features she is missing compared to the Sahara and the Rubi
I think you should at least go for the 'S' package if you find one. it won't cost you much more and you'll aprreciate the added features.

I have the X Base with a manual transmission. I got the Tuffy console and it is amazing. I'm almost glad that I got the base model. The money I am saving in car payments is going towards more mods. It's probably cheaper to get the parts that you want instead of getting good stock parts but then replacing them with the same better part later.
