JK 4wd ??

Does anyone know if the 4wd on the JK is, or will become, the the more expensive package? In most of the vehicles on the road today that come both ways, trucks and SUV's, the 4wd is an upgrade and is more costly to the consumer. I mean, up unitl now, Jeep only offered the Wrangler in 4wd, so they could not charge the customer more for the 4wd version. Would really hate to see that happen since the Wrangler just seems like it SHOULD be 4wd since that is what it was kind of desinged for. Just curious if anyone knows about this or has any info. Seems strange, but maybe the 2wd will be the more expensive option.

Jeep now has the equip and price feature up on jeep.com - you can check exact prices there if you like.

2-dr JK only comes in 4x4.

As for the 4-dr, yes 2WD is cheaper than 4x4, I can't imagine a customer buying a 2WD model that is more expensive than a 4WD model (all other things being equal), especially since the difference in mileage is only 2 mpg. In fact, I can't think of a single example where that is the case. By the way, the price of a comparable 4WD JK is cheaper than a TJ - so even though Jeep is now offering a 2WD model, they are not using that as an excuse to jack prices up if you want a 4WD.
