This was originally told to me that they might cover, then it went to they will cover, then it went to a promise, then they said no. That is why I am upset. I know that Jeep is a great name and cares about its customers. I actually did purchase from a Jeep Dealer. Sherwood Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Salisbury MD
JeepCares
Thank you so much for your response!!!! You are helping me see yet again why I am a loyal Jeep owner. I really hope that you guys can help me. Thank you again for your response.

I just heard back from my Claim Manager Bridgett and they are not going to provide me any help. I am now so exhausted with going back and forth with her and having all of my issues seem like they are insignificant. So now it comes down to the letter in to the CEO and I am hoping for a Miracle.

That stinks then with the dealer you purchased it from. I would have more of a beef with them than Chrysler. It seems Chrysler may be trying to help in some way (meaning, corporate, not the second dealer that said they could do nothing)
It seems the first dealer isnt very good. But thats not necesserily Chryslers fault. A lot of people (not you, others in other places) seem to think chrysler can control the dealers. They are independent businesses and franchises, and sometimes they can suck (like what youre dealing with)
Good luck, I hope corporate can do something for you since the dealers wont

Chrysler controls the pipeline and supply chain of the cars they sell. The dealer agreement they sign to be a dealer is not the same as a franchise. It is close, but Chrysler maintains more control than a typical franchisor.
In my original thoughts and subsequent posts about the dealership that sold the Jeep, I am just calling them out for not realizing a huge opportunity to take care of a situation and retain a customer.
The NADA (National Auto Dealer Association) publishes the dollar amount that it takes for dealerships to reach and capture a customer, in terms of advertising expense. It is a very high number, advertising is typically the second highest expense at a dealership, second to payroll.
I am not sure of the number right now, as I am out of the business now, but it is most likely in the $600 range, per customer.
I can go on and on and on and on and on and on and prove theory after theory that this (the first) dealer should have participated in the repair cost, BUT I am done because I am starting to bore myself and I am sure others are sick of reading my windbag posts!!!!
I have personally been helped by JeepCares on a repair issue and I think is an example of greatness that Chrysler cares enough to have someone monitoring situations like this. It truly is great.

I am aware of all this
I ran a dealership for 8.5+ years and now run a non profit that is geared towards education and advocacy for independent auto dealers
In this case though. The dealer had a used Jeep (which he took in on trade or bought at the auction, did not buy from chrysler), and sold it. And should have helped when it failed
A different dealer tried to help, and seemingly cannot
If I ran the first dealership, I woudl have worked something out with the customer, to make them happy, because that is how you earn a customer for life - as you pointed out. But they chose not to.
edit: enough windbagging for me too. haha
good luck to the OP. let us know how it works out and if Chrysler steps up when the dealer wouldnt!

That sucks but the reality is you bought a used Jeep and the warranty is up. Just another reason I bought a new Wrangler and paid extra for the extended warranty. Yes it is more money but an engine replacement is big $$$.

X2 it's very unfortunate. But it is used and who knows how abused that unit is. It could have been hydrolocked as far as they know. Its funny how the "might help" turned into a promise. Good luck, hope you can get it fixed. There is usually a reason why people trade in. And yes A good dealership would help you out.

Good luck was in the same situation a year ago, after tons of research I found quite a few jeeps between 07 and 08 were having the same issue with the bearings. Chrysler didn't care and turned their back on me and others I know. Now almost exactly a year after my engine taking a crap the TIPM has decided to go bad. I am not impressed with the quality of products Chrysler is putting on the road. I hope that they will give you some assistance. Newer vehicles shouldn't be having these kinds of problems with less than 50,000 miles on them. I now have a 07 unlimited sitting in my driveway again after sitting last year for 6 months. I hope your luck is better than mine

Well I got a call from Jeep Headquarters and They could not overturn the decision that was given. The guy told me that the decision was not fair and that since I was a long time Jeep Owner he would give me a lot of Money off a 2012 Jeep. Unfortunlatly the Wrangler didnt fit my budget in the packaging I wanted so I ended up with a 2012 Liberty. So this will be my last post and I am off to enjoying a Liberty for 3 years before I am back to a JK. With the deal they gave me I couldnt pass it up.

Hang on, let me get this right...
You bought a used Jeep.
You declined to purchase an extended warranty (I know they tried to sell you one)
The used Jeep broke, out of warranty.
Now you're upset because they won't fix your vehicle, that you knew was out of warranty, after you declined to purchase further warranty?
Come on man, really?

Clearly you didn’t read the post. The dealership I purchased from was a completely shady dealership and I have let Chrysler know what they did. You have no idea what they did when it came to the lies and empty promises. I asked Jeep for help since I am a long time Jeep owner since the Dealer was a disaster. They provided me with help and did the right thing. A long time customer was not happy with a dealer that bares the Jeep name and Jeep realized that and helped me out. The new Dealer came through and now has a customer for life. I buy new cars every three years so Sherwood in Salibury lost out on some money for being shady people. Everything from Financing, paperwork, warranty promises, and misinformation. Stay away from them people.

Just thinking. You said, that they said, they would give you alot of money off a 2012 but the wrangler did not fit your budget in the package you wanted. Just what was it you wanted.
If I was given that deal I would have taken a Sport or an X and say thank you.

Well, there's the problem. It's 2012 in America. You need to set your expectations very, very, very low. Once you do, it's difficult to be disappointed.
