This is going to be sweet.

I was over at Squaw Valley last week and saw an old Cherokee (XJ) that some guy had taken a hack saw to the rear quarter and basically made an old-school variant of this ... looked cool as a budget version, but the fit and finish were not exactly market worthy.

More progress with the rear quarters partially removed.

That's a lot of work to not keep it. I hope you make some coin for all your effort.

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

But what's the fun in that?
And where would you find a "jeep" truck this new?

Truth spoken, isn't that kit insanely expensive?

It's like $6,000 or somewhere in that range. Ridiculously overpriced, yet Clint Eastwood is going to represent Chrysler on TV and sit there, telling me how American's are getting screwed over by big companies.

Now, for $3,000? I'd totally pick it up and at that price, you'd probably see more of them on the road.

Clint Eastwood would need only a lucky strike non filter, a 12-pack of strohs, and a sawzall. And a .357 mag. And he would have his 4-door turned 2-door pickup.

Its $5000, and yes, it seemed high to me at first.
But then I got the kit, opened the box, inspected the contents, & was VERY surprised at the number of parts & the details that MOPAR put into this kit. It is very well done, and I think worth the money.

I am very excited to see this finished product!
I am going to put some extra detail into this JK8 that should make it stand out.
