Introducing "Madness"

Purchased a 2014 Sahara with the Polar Package approx a month ago. So far I've removed all the decals and badges. Looking to maybe throw on some older Renegade decals. We'll see what happens.
This evening I finished laying down some Dynamat throughout the entire interior of the tub. Time consuming, but worth it as it cut down on road noise and vibrations. This is also in preparation for upgrading the audio which is in the works and may happen this weekend.
Anyways, I'm going to use this thread as a place for me to document mods and upgrades to Madness. I did the same thing for my 85 CJ7 which is named Project 23. Check it out sometime.....

Nice! Looking good. I like the Artic JK's. What do you have planned for the build?

Let us know if we can help!

Nice looking Jeep, I agree 100% about losing the decals, good call.

Congrats on your new JK.

Sometimes for whatever reason a thread will get overlooked and buried as a result, Iím sure thatís what happened to yours. A simple bump with an update and a pic or two would most likely have brought some life back to it. I guess your way seems to have worked too.

Got pics?

Thanks for the kind words. Here's a few shots of my audio upgrade that I finally completed today.....
Alpine Double Din Head Unit (wired it so DVD's can be watched at any speed the vehicle is going)
Alpine amps
Polk Audio speakers (sound bar, dash and tweeters)
Rockford Fosgate R2 shallow mount 10" subs (x2)
Custom down firing sub box

Might add a small battery made for car audio. Research is telling me to go that route over a cap. Anybody agree?

I was considering putting a amp in the same place in my 14JK, but am concerned about water collecting there.

What about heat?

Is that a concern for you PROJECT 23?

Not worried about water because Madness won't see any deep water crossings. As for heat, I left the factory cargo cover off to give the amps more air. If heat does become an issue, I'll snag a couple PC fans from work and install them to get even more air flow.
Time will tell. I also may consider going with Alpine PDX amps as they produce less heat.

Heads up. If you get caught in a rainstorm with the top off water will collect in there. I'd hate to see you fry those.

Thanks for the heads up, but my JK will always have at least the rear section of the Freedom top on. I know it's a Jeep and going topless is part of it. It's also my DD so I have to take care of it.
That's where my CJ7 comes into play. I watched as a sudden down pour unloaded while I was shopping. I added a few towels to the shopping cart so I could wipe down the seats, dash, etc.
Anyways, Madness will be fine
