instrument cluster illumination lights

after a 6 hour trail ride I noticed that when I turned on my running lights my instrument cluster illumination lights failed to come on. All instruments seem to be in working order, just have a dark dashboard. Switch works with the interior overhead lamp. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? 2006 TJ.

Did you try turninh the stalk to adjust the brightness of the cluster lights? It sounds like you have them turned down all the way.

Maybe the TJ tech section would have better answers. Just saying.

I want to replace the bulbs for my instrument cluster from stock to red LED (where I can) as the stock green is blinding at night (especially for the trip) but cannot find what size bulbs I need to purchase for what areas. I read that they can vary. Anyone that can point me in the right direction? Help is greatly appreciated!!

you can adjust the brightness by turning the dial headlight knob to dim down the dash lights/radio.

I know that, I want to change out the colour as indicated in my previous reply. I need to know what size bulbs are needed.

its not just 1 bulb, its a bunch of littler leds that are soldered in to the cluster

If it were an older model, I would probably suggest taking the cluster out and removing the factory bulbs and replacing them. Aside from soldered in, indivdual LEDs...the most common replacement sizes are 194-based bulbs and 74-sized bulbs.

You may want to check your fuses also
