Sounds much better than the stock muffler and it gives me that small amount of power that was missing. Though it doesnt sound as nice as the flowmaster did on my XJ.

Looks like a good install. What series? (e.g., 40, 50...)

I'm not sure if it'll be any easier, but the shop that installed my FM 40 painted the welds (along with every other truck that went on their lift).

Tell me about it. I'd like for it to warm up so I can get the top off this thing.
On another note where abouts do you do your wheeling. I grew up in NY and thats were most of my jeep friends are so thats where i do 99% of my wheeling. Know any good spots locally?

I don't know of any great spots in Massachusetts... most require you to be a member of clubs to have access. Connecticut and New York have some good spots.. western Mass... but limited.

How do you like the original 40? I'm thinking of installing a muffler myself but i'm indecisive between the original 40 and super 44. i'm just looking for a real deep sound. any help would be awesome.
thanks.

1) You do realize this thread is just a little dead right? Like by 2.5 yrs.
2) You don't have a JK, so you've got a different engine, which should impact the tone of a muffler, so asking in the TJ might work better.
3) Flowmaster mufflers should always be welded in, not just bolted in for best results. At least according to Flowmaster themselves.
4) If none of the above matters to you, I've got a 40 on my JK and really like it. Doesn't have any sort of a tuner sound and when you get on it, it's pretty throaty for a little 3.8L. It'll never sound like a V8 though.
