Installation KC Slims on Windshield help

Hello everyone, well I finally purchased some driving lights for my windshield area. It seems like an easy install, but I'm trying to find a good access hole from the cab into the engine compartment to install my switch. One of the threads here showed a hole on the right side of the dash (need to remove panel first) which has foam in it. I'm just having a difficult time routing the wires through....any suggestions...thank you

both of these seem like good options. I like cooltech's switches better but i like quadretecs prices more.
hope this helps!

I think the OP was asking where to route the wires from the lights through the firewall and to the switches. I use the hole to the right of where the steering column comes out from the cab. I wish I had a pic for you but I'm at work.

Facing the front of the Jeep, under the hood look to the right of the steering column for a circular black grommit. I had to trim the hole in the grommit a bit to get my wires through, but its worked great for both of my light applications because I have my switches mounted on the front of the dash right next to the left of the steering column.

You'll prolly find a hole before I can get you pics, but if you need them I can send you some around 6.

On the drivers side if you take out the pannel right on the dash by the drivers side door you will see some foam. what I did is from under the hood I used a metal coat hanger and bent it straight and taped one end of the switch wire on the coat hanger and pushed it right through the foam. And just repeat on all your wires.

Switch, same place as above post.

Wires through the rubber grommet behind the master cylinder.

Do you think it would be easier if I removed the hood cowl? It seems like it would, but I don't know if i want to remove the wipers.....

I mounted my rocker switch in between the air vents (where the power window switches are on some models).
It looks professional like it should be there. As far as routing the wiring, i didn't even need to go through the firewall, you can tuck the wire along side the other cables on the driver's side, there is a hole in the A-Frame, so no drilling is needed. It's then super easy to tuck the wire along the windshield over to the center of the dash. I can provide pics if you contact me.

Thank you everyone for your responses, and please send pictures if you don't mind and have the time to do so. This would be greatly appreciated.

I did not remove the hood cowl. But it probably would be easier. I just loosened it up to hide my wires in there.

Just did mine today. On the passenger side remove the side panel to expose the 1" hole full of foam. Use a coat hanger, welding rod or something straight to push thru the foam, now tape your wire to coat hanger or rod on the cab side and pull it thru from under the hood. Doing this on the passenger side will bring your wires out close to the battery.

Hope this helps,
