Info/Pictures on low lift flats and 35" tires

Hey guys I'm going to start doing a build on my 2013 JKU here soon and am planning on running 35s. I'm looking at a re-gear, teraflex 1.5" performance levelling kit, and bushwacker flats. I was wondering if anyone had any pics of a set up like this (no lift or just a level kit), and if there is anything I might be overlooking that also needs to be upgraded to make 35s work (tire carrier maybe?)

I'd recommend the Artec axle armor kit (truss, c gussets, track bar bracket, lower control arm skids) and a tire carrier or leave the spare off and put it in the trunk when wheeling. At an absolute minimum c gussets and replace your track bar bolts with 9/16 grade 8 bolts.

Teraflex 1.5" spacer leveling kit and 35s.




Front end was sagging, so I removed one 1" spacer from the front and swapped in Rancho 2" coils. Should've kept the spacers in because there's still like a 1/2" rake and and I'm probably going to get a winch soon.

That is exactly the look I am going for (especially with the slant back... might have to look into it...) What tires are you running there? (I'm planning on spidertrax spacers MOPAR steelies and something with a snowflake rating, Live in Canada after all, eh?)

I noticed on the ARTEC axle armour kits that there is an option for either a factory height bracket or a raised bracket, pardon my ignorance but, what is this for? Why does it matter to me? and which one do I need? (I expect it has something to do with the height of the lift I choose?)

The stock bracket is pretty flimsy and I've only read a handful of posts of it breaking/ripping off, but when it does it's catastrophic. If you're going to get replace it, you need the factory height one. The raised one is recommend for 3" lifts or higher. It also relocates your steering stabilizer to a less vulnerable spot.

So this all really depends on what you intend on doing with your jeep. Unless you are hardcore you don't need trusses, C gussets, and axle supports to run 35s. We've been running 35" on many JKs around here and I have yet to see a ripped Trackbar bracket or bent diff housing.

The simplest set up to run 35s is flat fenders, 1" body lift, wheels with 4.5" or less backspace and trim the pinch seam. A 1" spacer up front to level if you require it. A friend of mine has this set up and it works really well.

The other option if you don't like a body lift is the TF 1.5" leveling kit as you mentioned, flat fenders, but you will still need the wheels with 4.5" or less backspace or wheel spacers and trim the pinch seam.

If you are going to go hardcore and wheel the rocks then traumahead has filled you in on what is required there.

A 35 on the factory spare carrier is definitely going to stress the mount. I think the slickest mount is Teraflex's.

I like your plan so far. I'd put beefing up the axle on the bottom of your current list unless you're doing some intense rock crawling or hauling butt off road.

35s on Teraflex leveling kit and cut flares. I would cut your stock flares or go to metal tube fenders and skip the BW plastic ones.

AEV 2.5" w/ bushwackers and 35's.. Still rides great and is plenty tall enough to get above most mid grade obstacles. Little bit of trimming and 37's are fittable.

I agree with Remmy though, if I could redo time I would upgrade to better flares. I had a run in with the police and I needed a quick fix because I trimmed my flares. So bushwackers were cheapest and fastest to get so I settled with them. Round 2 will be Metalcloak for sure. Dont beat around the bush with these rigs

moonyjohn- once again i was about to post pics of my jeep and got confused when i saw yours thinking it was mine already posted. i was like WTF!?

Good looking rigs guys, thanks for the input, I'll hold off on a built front axle and go with a tire carrier first, unfortunately trying to find tube fenders in Canada is like hens teeth so I think Bushwackers will be the most economical way to flatten out my fenders (without cutting up my stockers, which I plan on avoiding).
