Would someone tell me:

A-location of the amp

B-have you successfully upgraded the factored head unit and able to keep/power up the amp

Thanks guys.

A: Behind the knee panel under the steering wheel.

B: Not and easy answer. I believe there is a Kicker amp upgrade, but since the amp is connected to the Can bus system, there aren't any other off-the-shelf amps that are plug-and-play with the JK stereo system

Thanks gunner. I'm wondering if I can upgrade the head unit and speakers only and still use the same amp without modification. Will it work with an aftermarket head unit

Yes, but you need the correct wiring harness. Here is what I found using a quick search. Prob only works with Sony head units, but my guess is other manufacturers are on board with similar harnesses.

Here is a generic one for the infinity system that can be connected to any aftermarket stereo.
