I want a Snorkel...

Ok so I have been looking at snorkels for a few weeks and found a few I am considering. Anything you know would be a great help. Also so pics.

PS. I have a aFe cold air right now so I think I need to change that before I install a snork?

You should ask yourself: Do you WANT a snorkel, or do you NEED a snorkel? IMO it really wouldn't be worth getting one if you didn't need it...

Based on some of the hydrolocking issues we've seen, I think the snorkel is cheap insurance, plus it does serve a purpose in the right circumstances.

I have the AEV and love it. The River Raider is sexier, but I couldn't see paying $200 more for it.

I went on line and got an AEV Snorkel bought it thur some Mopower site for $313 shipped. Yes you have to cut the hood. Yes its in black only.
but I am in Florida and mud and water is all we have. I have extended my vents and added teh snorkel and have gone thru water up over the doors with no intrusion in the diff's or the engine. Had it on for a year no problems..

lifted locked armored on 37"

The Gobi looks like it mounts to the windshield the same way my Kargomaster mounts. You would have to rig something to release to still be able to raise the rack.
