i-pod mounting options?

Back in my third jeep & loving it. (for the last 12 hrs any way)

I'm a newb here, but this will be my fourth online forum. I've found them to be very helpful. (Titantalk.com, G35driver.com, InfinitiFX.org)

Back to the topic. Where are you guys/gals mounting your i-pod? Pics would be nice.

Thanks & talk to ya later!

I have also seen a cup holder mounted dock http://www.podsplus.com/index.cfm?fu...Product_ID=137

I think Milkman has the right idea though.

I have the Mopar iPod Kit in both my Jeeps, so I just leave it in the glove box since I can control it via the deck.

See my write up here on the Mopar iPod Kit:

Edit... I know realize that don't all the stock decks on the new JK come with an iPod hook in? Can you control the iPod as well from the deck? That would be cool if that's the case.

I believe the REQ 6 disc radio and the RER nav radio has the aux input, not sure about the RES single disc. The REN with the 'My Gig' feature will also have it. I believe though, you still have to operate the iPOD with its own controls.

Thanks for the replies!

All the 07 radios have the input on the face. I'm looking for ipod mounting options like this ProClip for the G35....

try this one too - http://www.proclipusa.com

They might not have 2007 Wrangler mounting options yet, but the rest are pretty slick.

All the guys on the G35driver forum love ProClip. They have 3 options for the TJ's but nothing for the JK's. I sent the sales dep an email & will keep you guys updated.

Has anyone got any confirmation as to whether the Mopar iPod kit is compatible with the base radio?

I assumed it would when I ordered it--figuring I wouldn't need to upgrade to a 6-disc changer, if I'm connecting my iPod. After all, the best part about the iPod in the car, is not having to carry around any CD's!

I asked my "stealership" but they did not know. The aux imput is nice, but hardwiring to the back would be much cleaner.

I hope it works!

It will work with any of the radios, it's fm modulated.

If it's just FM modulated, how does the radio control the i-pod?

It doesn't. It just plays thru the vehicle speaker system.
