I made a DIY video for fender cutting.

Enjoy:

Here she is wheeling. It rubs a little but no damage. I believe little extra bump-stop in the rear would solve the issue.

Nice job!

Thx. I thought people would find it useful.

Wow, those turned out great! Screw paying $600 bucks for Bushwacker flares.

Thanks. The Jeep owner actually had fenders on order but is sending them back now. :tea:

Awesome video man! I'm planning on doing this very soon as well as making a factory stubby bumper and will be referencing this vid. Also I was digging the train conductor overalls! toot toot. LOL

Yeah I really don't see why you'd pay a lot of money for fenders when you can have something this nice for free. And short of a die hard jeep fan nobody would even be able to notice the difference in these and a $400 set of aftermarket ones. Granted I can see the money in eventually upgrading to metal tube style fenders if you're a super hard wheeler.

Outstanding! Turned out great.

I was just outside looking at my jeep and thinking I needed to chop the fenders. I come back in and here is your video. That is a sign!

Do you get any flutter on the front tips of the fenders at speed with so much of the support missing?

truckersatlas 01-04-2012 06:25 PM

Flutter

mattlago-

I have not noticed any fluttering and I have had it at freeway speeds the last couple of days. The fenders are more rigid than you would think even after trimming away all the extra plastic. Charles did take some extra care to not over trim the support on the underside of the front fender though!:cheers2:

Great video Charles
I added this thread to the list in the F.A.Q. for future reference :rtft:

Has anyone done this to Sahara fenders (i.e. fenders that aren't necessarily black)? With pics?

silverbulletO5 01-05-2012 02:04 PM

looks good, I like the looks of the stock fenders being cut than the aftermarkets and alot cheaper also.

Nice video, bloyer:cheers2:
