A few questions:

When talking through UConnect on my blackberry curve the bluetooth volume on the phone is only halfway up and I can't adjust it which leaves me turning the volume all the way up on my HU.. does anyone with a curve know how to fix this?
I have a Curve and it works perfectly. I did have a POS Palm that gave me all kinds of problems. One of the problems was if I was on a call before I stared the Jeep and then when the BT took over the call, the other person could not hear me very well. The only way to fix it was to end the call and start over. Since I switched to the Curve I have had zero problems. Try another phone to see where the problem is. The Uconnect always starts a call at half volume which should be more than enough. If it was a connector then it would probably be the smaller of the two into the radio. The big one is control and the small one is audio.

Never got the Ipod stuff so I can't help you there.

The volume for my mic sucks. I've had nothing but complaints about me using the Uconnect for phone calls. they say i sound to far from the mic. i've placed the mic all over the place in the jeep and no luck.

I really wish we could raise the sensitivity of the mic.

I have to lean over and speak into it in order for people to be able to hear me, and they say it's still sounds too far away.

Lets be honest, the mic is not a really high quality mic. If you know anything about splicing wire, you can buy another mic of better quality and just cut the old mic wires and splice the new mic in. It's nothing more than a power and a ground. I'm not sure where you could find a better mic though, you might try Radio Shack.

so does anyone know if there's a way to scroll through songs? As of right now the only way to go to the next song is to hit the 'next track' button.

Meanwhile the tune/scroll knob does nothing (unless you hit the list button). Wouldn't it be a no-brainer to program the scroll wheel to scroll through the songs?

btw i'm using the res single-disc radio.

I had the same problem as everyone regarding Mygig and u connect for Jeep Wrangler but did not get the complete solution from this form got it by luck and have to share.
Wrangler 2009 with RER Mygig
I ordered the mic from MYGIG MICROPHONE for $20.00 and the setup of the mic was no problem getting the software to work was where the headache started. Now this was all trial and error so will explain what I did. Started to updated software from http://mofv.com/mygig/ did the installing of 9.807 first and still nothing was showing for UConnect so did update for 2.043 and still nothing was working. Every time u push UConnect it say unavailable for this system. So now I wanted to pull my hair out and it is back to the web for research. Now every page I read has a different solution but nothing wanted to work. So after the last one told me go to the main menu on the Mygig by holding down the hard key Seek up + Seek down + Menu and making sure your mic is enabled (cannot remember the name but close to the end of the menu and the only one that has enable or disable in the text) and it was enabled I was running out of ideas so there is another option in the menu to “reset to factory settings” so what is the worst thing that can happen. I went for it and for about 5 min I was sure the radio was now a goner as nothing wanted to work it was going to the time showing on the screen and no other button wanted to work even if I triad turn off the car opening the door and restarting Mygig. But after about 5-7 min it came back to live and everything I save on my HHD was deleted even my Nav history and my place was deleted but the UConnect was working 100% now the option for paring phone is system setup menu. So don’t really know if all the software updates was required for the UConnect to work but all I can say it is working and no more dead buttons on the radio. Hope this helps some one that has the same problems as I did. The mygig lockpick was not required to get the UConnect working.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I'm hoping one of you guys can help me out.

I installed the uConnect module and had it activated at the dealer ($40, not too bad) and the Bluetooth stuff works great, but the iPod functionality doesn't work at all. I'm using an iPhone 4, I've tried an older iPod mini and that doesn't work either. Pressing the AUX button should change to iPod, but it just says "no disc". I have a 2010 JK with RES+RSC. Any idea what could be wrong? I've swapped out the iPod cable for a new one, didn't help. any ideas?

Hmmmm, this was a problem for most 07's because the radio was different than what was in 08's and 09's. They look the same from the front and really the only way you can tell is from the tag on the top of it. When an 07 didnt work I think the display said something like 'aux port not connected'. Might want to jot down the radio part number and check with the dealership to see if the radio changed in '10.

I dont use an iPod or the cable but I remember hearing that the part number had changed at one point, but I think it was just an improvment and they added an "A" or "B" to the end of the number.

That about all I can think of. Let us know what you find out!

Thanks,

RichC

I need a favor here - can someone with an RES+RSC radio go and pop the dash cover off and tell me the date code printed on top of the radio? Mind is "1660 0106" and to me that could mean that the radio was made in January of 06 (to be put into an 07 model) which means that it could very well be one with the missing/blocked rear AUX port. Help me out here guys

I don't have and RES+RSC, I have an REQ. I popped off the top and it specifically says Manufactured 2007.AP.May. I have no idea what the AP means, but a safe bet would be to say May 2007. I have an 07, and my IPOD will not work. I even had the dealer switch out the radio, unfortunately he put another 07 radio in it which did not solve the AUX problem. Hope it helps.

The dealer won't switch the radio under warranty because there's nothing wrong with it (they say), so I'm left to contact Chrysler and see what they can do. The dealer confirmed with Mopar that I have the right radio, uConnect box, iPod cable and I'm using a compatible iPod....but it just doesn't work. Hopefully Chrysler will authorize the dealer to switch the radio for a new one, but I can tell this is going to be a long road.

The date code of the RES+RSC that I just sold from my 2010 JK was:

DATE CODE 0650 0905

You'll probably find it easier to find a used radio - there's plenty of people that have upgraded to a MyGig. As an example, I sold my almost-new RES+RSC with two weeks use for $100. That seems to be the going rate.

Thanks for the date code...that shows my theory is wrong.

I'm already $300 in for the uConnect + iPod cable + uConnect activation at the dealer. I'd rather not spend another $100 to replace a brand new stereo when it should be covered by warranty. I'll wait to see what Chrysler have to say.
