what a great write up! i wonder if one of the gentex mirrors that has a mic built into it would work with the U-connect. also does this interfere with Sirius or with a factory Ipod adapter?

So when you order the U-Connect it comes with the mic that you've got? I thought the rearview mirror was supposed to be replaced with the one with the mic in it? I would much rather have the mic where I want to put it and not have it always stuck in the rearview mirror.

Amazing write up, I must say. Although I still think that they should have shipped all the 07 and 08's with it already installed. When I bought my 07 JK 2dr X, they told me it worked already.
