Ok, new issue finally after almost 2 weeks I have my iPod, so I plug in the cable, go to enjoy playing with the new features and press the AUX button and I get "Aux Not Connected". Huh? It's connected, because it's actually charging the iPod, but the stereo isn't recognizing it.

Thoughts?

Could this be because i didn't have the cable connected when the dealer StarScanned my Jeep to recognize Uconnect? Seems strange.

Has anyone else with the iPod cable working installed the cable after the StarScan or am I alone on an island on that one?

Hmm interesting, (saw it on the other board too), I'm thinking I might have to give it a shot with a new head unit and see, but it still seems odd that Uconnect works and not the iPod.

Just read your post 132, I guess I'll head to the dealer and see if they're hand me a radio to plug in in the morning. They won't have to reflash the Jeep will they? Just plug and play?

Do they have the radios just laying around to test this out? I don't think they're going to want to let me yank one from a newer jeep (although mine was produced towards the end of the 07 line).

The flash is for the telmatics module. At least when they sent me the replacement they said the dealer would have to do the flash again. they had a mechanic pull an RES out of a new jeep on the lot and plug it into my harness. It was very hard to get them to do that, but they knew that I had replaced all cables and the mopar module and the aux still did not work. If they have a take out from another vehicle you should not have a problem getting them to try another one. I was really susprised they did pull one from a new vehicle, and my dealer earned major points in my book for going the extra mile.

Well, I will give it a shot, unless someone can come up with an idea that doesn't have me heading to the dealer.

And you must have a great dealer if they pulled a single disc and replaced it with a 6! If I have to go into the dealer, that certainly would make it worth it. lol

Make sure you bring the instructions that come with the Uconnect module with you. It has the step by step instructions for your dealer to use, to get the StarScan done.

It's a quick and easy install and while it's not as cheap as buying an add on bluetooth module that doesn't work through the head unit, it's well worth it to have everything working "factory" also, with the iPod cable connected, it's like having a hard drive built into the head unit. Who needs MyGig anyway? lol

I came across an aftermarket version of the auto headlights... kinda pricey, but I imagine it would work.

It's too bad you're all the way in Ohio Zoe, or I'd say try pairing it with mine. Maybe someone else is close by on one of the Forums with Uconnect working and you can Shanghai theirs for a bit to test pair your iPhone.

Edit: DSY is in Ohio, but I'm not sure how far away you guys are.

I know the phone will pair. I dont know the ipod cable will work for the iphone. I use the aux to head phone jack. It would be nice to charge my phone also while playing music. I called uconnect and they said it would. They have instuctions online on how to pair.

To me the ipod integration is the best part of the package. I had an old ipod with a dead click wheel just sitting in a drawer so for grins today I plugged it in to see what happened. It worked great! who needs a click wheel when you can control and see everything from the head unit. I now have my dedicated jeep ipod that I will not loose sleep over if it walks away.
30 gigs of my favorite tunes on my radio dial all the time. The uconnect is nice but the ipod part is great.

Do you know who make the cable. I dont know if Mopar would know anything about it. If you ever get a iphone hooked up to it let me know. Also is there a way to take a picture of the end of the cable. I wonder if you can get it localy??

Not sure who makes the cable but it is a mopar part. #82211263 it has the standard Ipod docking connector not sure if thats the same as on an I-phone. Wyckoff-mopar-parts.com seems to have the best price $40.25 and their service is top notch.
