JK purchased beginning of May. a little over 5100 miles on it so far. No issues.
JKU purchased beginning of April. a little over 4300 miles on it so far. No issues.

Purchased Fall of last year, just over 7,000 miles and no issues. Did have the e-brake handle replaced but otherwise all good.

Just out of curiosity, exactly what part is failing? I gather it's in the head, but is it the valve, the cam, or the seat?

The most recent posts I've seen are saying it's a casting problem in one of the valve seats.

I just hit 13k miles yesterday (purchased March 4th), no problems.

For people who have owned jeeps before, this probably won't turn them against the brand. It is a shame about the first-time owners that will be soured by this experience and will never get to find out how great an experience Jeep can be.

I traded my 2006 LJ for a 2012 JKUS because I had the dreaded OPDA problem with the 4.0L I6 and it cost me plenty to fix (Well I think it was fixed), (Replaced two computers, O2 sensors a few times, Cat Converter, OPDA modified, Cam and valves, finally rebuilt the whole motor with a 505 Performance 4.7L Stroker kit and it failed the first time at 600 miles, rebuilt a second time (Under Warranty) and traded it before it had 300 miles for a 2012 JKUS now I am hearing a tick in my 2012 that was built in April 2012.

What a disappiontment in Jeep and I have had Jeeps before!

Bought mine in April. 4k miles on it. Just did my first oil change at 3500. Still waaaaayy to early to tell, imo.

JKU bought in September, 2011, so I can assume it was an "early build".

No problems in 6,000 miles of short trip, daily driver type use. Fill tank, drive, change oil & repeat.

Of course, I'm still waiting for the OPDA to go out on my '06 Rubi also. Keeping my fingers crossed.
