I had the head on mine replaced at 20k I thought it felt more powerful afterwards. It certainly runs a lot smoother, no more vibrating steering wheel.

I thought a handful of the 2013's off the line had the problem. Are a lot of the 2013's having problems too, or did they finally fix it? Any reports of 2014's with the tick?

i bout a used 2013 2dr sport with 6200 miles on it and now has 6600 miles. no issues yet. the only warning lights on the dash are the low tire lights bc of the aftermarket wheels. the jeep was build in 4/13 if that makes a difference

So far, so good on a 2014 here. No noises ...in fact it's almost silent when idling ...something I'm not used to. Usually driving junk ...or a diesel.

Mines super quiet too other than the initial start up like all vehicles to. After about 5-8 seconds you can barely hear it. Hopefully soon I'll have an AFE super tuck to maker her growl

I'm gonna leave mine just the way it is. I kinda like being in stealth mode for a change. I'll leave the growling up to 6.7 Cummins

Not me.

It just left the house about 30 minutes ago.

P0302 & P2305. MIL solid most of the time, flashes intermittently, runs bad when MIL flashes, dealership wanted it towed in instead of driven.

It was built November 2012. Head casting julian date was 3142A, so its either a C revision or (rumored) D revision driver's side head.

Hopeful but doubtful that its just the coil pack on #2.

3rd time in the shop in a year... axle seal leak, air conditioner hose leak, and now whatever this is.

My fourth Jeep, first I've had any problems with except for late in my XJ's life it had a leaky RMS and I had to keep the A/C topped off.

If they can't get it right, I'm going to dump it & either buy a '14 Rubi or a '14 1500 Laramie.

Ugh.

I wouldn't buy another JK with a penta jesus engine. No offense but, those engines are the biggest POS there is on the road I think the Chrysler 2.7 and 3.5 were better and those were junk. The only good thing bolted to it is the A580. Put it behind the 3.8L and it would run right next to the 3.6L.

Soccer six in the mix.

those codes mean both heads at least you MIGHT get both.

Be sure they do a leak down and show the results.

i got one new head and they left the other to wait for it to go out of warranty............. I love Jeeps but Fiat is going to kill the brand.. just wait for 016. people will be saying then how the Jk was the last real Jeep

the w580 is nice but will not bolt to anything other than Chrysler under designed, no QC stuff they build.

the w580 as well is like a orphan now.

in the end the best option is a 6L80 and a ls or simular out of many of the chevy trucks .

Both? Does that mean coil pack 2 does not fire cylinder 2?

Why? Its still in production, no?

Haha! No thanks. I've had enough GM power train drama to last a lifetime. Although... You may have a good point. My last v8 Chevy may have been a pinging piston slapping underpowered boat anchor, but at least it never had to ride on a tow truck.

I do not know what you are hearing at your start ups?

BUT METAL ON METAL = TICKS!

Thats not good even on a old motor imo.

Did you break in the engine like you were suppose to?

I know many in here feel I am a pro Mo-par Chrysler nut. Well after owning 3 jeeps, I will never go back to Ford and Chevy ! After 10 yrs with in the past,I am convinced Chrysler is better.

The New Pentastar engine is genius imo....My plan is to ride with the Wrangler for a few more yrs to graduate to the Cherokee SRT Hemi! I like new tech, with the pentastar, but American muscle is where my heart is.

Peace.
