We just took ours in for the protection package in our warranty and mentioned the CEL had come on twice in the last week and ended up getting the head replaced. It only took 3 days and was covered by the manufacturers warranty.

2014 JK. 450 miles on the odometer. Going in today for the second time in a week for check engine light.

I'm loving the Jeep so far but I'm really getting worried that this thing is going to get ugly on me.

2,500 miles on my 13 JKU, no problems (yet)...I fear the day that it meets my expectations of Chrysler

What codes is it throwing?

Anybody with an android device needs to get the torque app and one of those $15 bluetooth OBD2 things off amazon. I bought the cheapest one I could find on there and it works just fine with the JK. Much cheaper than the actual code scanner I bought 10 years ago, and pulls up a LOT more engine data in addition to checking/resetting codes.

I'm not sure what code was showing. I was told that the ignition coil and spark plug needed to be replaced on #5 cylinder. I'm hoping this was a minor glitch.

would like to hear how this goes as you have the updated heads. if it turns out that it is a coil pack. that is good news. If it a head issue, the redesign seems to be no better the earlier.

3800 miles on my 2013, no noises. Incredibly smooth, and civilized. Doesn't have much power though. Feels sluggish unless I wind the snot out of it.

N0 one seems to have the exact date when the so called "new heads" were put into the Jeep production. Heck my build date on the door is june 2013, so I may still be stuck with the old heads.........(:...........No biggie, my 2012 wrangler brokein just perfect! I used regular NON CORN gas at 89 octane with Lucas and followed proper break in instructions ! She Purrred till the day I let her go.....................

2012 just pushed past 30k. Had the water pump replaced (known issue), but other than that, good to go. Oh, and had to change my battery as well to a real one about a month ago.

Yeah, it's off.

Now, with about 4200 miles it seems to be loosening up a bit. Still no hot rod, but certainly more enjoyable. Of course low range is no problem. I am worried about putting 35" tires on though. Might have to look into 5.38's before I do that.

The rest of the Jeep is PERFECT! No squeaks, rattles or groans. No leaks or wind noise, even though the soft top was off most of the summer.

This is my 8th Jeep, and the quality is FAR better than any of the others. And FAR better than the toyota fj cruiser my buddy had. In fact, after he drove my '13, he immediatly traded that heap in on a Rubicon for himself. First American vehicle he has had in 15 years, and now he knows the truth...jap crap isn't all it's cracked up to be. He is now trading his Wifes' camry for a 2014 Grand Cherokee.

I love it when people see the light, and quit being brainless sheep.
