New member, thanks for letting me join in. I have a few questions: is the dead head tick fixed for 2013? I'm trying to grab one off a local lot if I can hammer out a good deal.

Any idea when they will add direct injection to the 3.6L?

Thanks, great site!

I have a weird smell that come from the engine compartment when I rev it up to 4500. I am kind of worried since I didn't have that problem before. Just my two sense...

I'm at 9500 miles on my 2012 with the m6. So far so good. It is still quiet and is running strong. My mom's 2012 had the head problem happen around 15,000.

16,666 and check engine light just came on, running rough. Last week I had oil on the air filter dripping in from the intake engine side. They replaced the PCV and things seemed better, but I guess not. Jeep goes in on Wednesday. You can add me to the list of unhappy Jeep owners getting a head replacement....

Sure makes me feel like getting rid of this thing. I know, there is nothing else like it, but you think if you drop 30k cash on a vehicle it should last one year? And, especially if it is a repair being done over and over again that Chrysler would be pro-active.

Had head replacement on my 2012 rubicon at around 20k. Ever since then it has run flawlessly. Now I'm at 45k and still couldn't be happier with the jeep and it's engine!!

Confirmed head is toast. They have to keep it in the shop for a week and no loaner. Thank you Chrysler! Excellent job.

I would speak with the service manager, then the dealer manager if necessary about a loaner. Be polite but firm, explain you need a vehicle, that the way they treat you now will influence how and where you buy your future vehicles.

You have nothing to loose.

Just turned 20K miles on mine (purchased Aug 2012), no engine problems and I love it. My only complaint: the horn sucks..

Heater core blew at 10k, took a week to repair it. Best of all, an employee stole some items out of my truck while it was in the shop. Lol.

I got back the JK two days ago from the head replacement and it most certianly picked up some power. It runs quite a bit better and I cracked off 20.5 mpg this morning (according to the computer) on the way to work. That is 2 mpg higher than normal.

Overall, the dealership did a great job and it only took three days to complete.

All is forgiven Jeep. Other than this issue, 19k miles of flawless performace.
