Have there been any new cases since the corrected design went into production? I want to get another JK but have been waiting for the fix plus a year to see if the bugs get worked out.

I would really like to get that 10th year Rubi but I don't want to deal with a crappy Jeep built on a Monday morning again.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen anyone with a '13 posting about it. That's not proof of anything, but the general feeling is that the new heads fixed the problem.

So, I posted this a while back thinking I was in the clear. However, now at just under 36k, I'm getting the P0302 code, the dreaded cylinder #2 misfire. Looks like I'll be on a quest to find a Jeep dealership that'll actually fix my Jeep under warranty (they are hard to come by here in Colorado) come Monday.

Sorry to hear that man! What is the build date of your Jeep?
Good luck and keep us posted.

Any 2013's with engine problems? I'm trying to figure a time frame if/ when Jeep fixed the problem with the heads.

I have a '13 and they threw in an extended warranty to 72 months to seal the deal. I'm happy they did just in case and by then I will either sell or drop a Hemi in it!!

I have a 2012, it has 35K miles. I hear a slight ticking while running. It's worse at start up obviously. Is this something i should be concerned with? I have not seen the check engine light come on yet so i assume it has not set any codes. Just keep driving it with the ticking or see the dealer? Ideas?

It will come.. might want to see if your dealer will go ahead and do the work based off the complaint of the noise.

Why wouldn't a dealership honor the warranty?

Because they get paid at a lower rate for warranty work and making up excuses to avoid honoring the warranty is a dealership tradition.

i didn't have the ticking, but it did throw up a code. the check engine light reared it's head twice in a week. dealer stated it's the cylinder head replacement. doh! parts are on order. i've got 22,000 miles when it showed. dealer said no worries, so i guess that's a good start.
