had it installed by the dealer, but if you have the time and inclination you can do it your self. If it wasn't for this forum I would never have known about the mic, as the dealer sure didnt seem aware of it until I kept asking about it.

well thanks for the help so far .i bought the kit disassembled the dash cliped the mic into the only port it would fit into the rear then i ran the mic up the back along the top . i havent decided yet where to install it if there is a space its supposed to go in do tell im all ears. the kit came with a disk . i looked for the engineering menu and as hard as lokked i could seem to find that menu and the disk just reads data and nothing happens what am i doing wrong ?
The engineering menu is brought up by pressing Seek Up, Seek Down, and Menu all at once. Go down to page 4 or 5 and you'll see a soft key that says "Enable JK HF/VR". Press that key and the Uconnect will now be active, and the key will change to "Disable" instead. Exit it out of the menu and now when you press UConnect, you should be give the "Uconnect" prompt from the speakers. If it doesn't take the first time (mine didn't), Go back in and disable, then renable it and it'll work.
The disc in the kit is a PDF of instructions, won't play in the MyGig.
Also, make sure your software is up to date on the MyGig. The older versions didn't have the "Enable" button in the engineering menu, feature was added later. The latest and greatest software (1.220 official and 2.042 beta (which I run)) can be downloaded at the Unofficial MyGig site, http://mofv.com/mygig
